Pretty disappointed in this place. We are staying at best star resort so we decided to eat here. First time we sat down we were happy with prices. When we ordered they were out of everything. They didn't have green tea, no ingredients to make rendang (a very popular local dish that they strongly advertise at the resort) tried to order lamb persik, they didn't have that either. Frustrated but we stayed and I had really great seafood nasi goreng. So the two stars are for that dish. Decided to give it a second chance and sat down and they handed us a different menu that was all western food. Being westerners we wanted Asian food. Even tho there was a table of locals sitting next to us eating fried rice and such (not on western menu) they told us they would not provide us anything but western. Frustrated we left. The staff walks away when we go to the front to ask questions and gives us no answers. They are very slow to help and serve .always on their phones. I want to recommend for the one dish I had that was good But set ur expectations low. Very disappointed in all aspects of...
Read moreQuality and consistency is a grave issue. Mainly the food is not freshly made. The deep-fried squid tasted like it was cooked earlier and had sat for quite some time. It was neither warm nor soft and maleable. The crust or batter was dry and stiff along with the squid where you were chewing on rubber. The tomyam seafood tasted good but the seafood was not fresh. The shrimp were so overcooked that it disintegrated into tiny bits when I bit into it. This tells me that the shrimp may have been leftover from another dish where they added it to the tomyam. The nasi putih I had with the deep-fried squid was also not fresh. It was very dry and tepid - room temperature. It tasted like it was day old rice that one would use to make fried rice with. So, I have reasoned that I am not getting the quality and value I should get. Also, they are a bit pricier that their...
Read moreI went to the main street restaurant, which is linked to the beach front next door to the hotel (you can walk through a creepy back alley to get to either or). The main street one is located opposite Shell Out.
Food was good. Really enjoyed the Teh Ais, also. Got the Set Menu A for 67RM for two (as in it's 67 total, not each!). Fish was tasty, curry was not bad but I find chicken in Malaysia different. The egg omelette was great. Simple but great. Service staff are super young so may seem unattentive or distracted but they are nice and polite otherwise. Place got busy after 9pm so go earlier. Didn't seem like an overly popular place with tourists, but don't let that fool you. Food was...
