Mong Seng Kopitiam - Hee Kiaw Noodle — Restaurant in Malacca

There are reasons that I put in 5 stars for the food, service and atmosphere. We chanced upon this small restaurant while walking back to Majestic. We ordered fish paste kuehteow soup, one dried kuehteow and a couple of warm barley drinks. There's some nostalgic feeling to the taste, the ambience, basically, the simplistic of the whole setup here, almost like time forgot this place. No flashy, content-worthy stuff for social media nonsense. Just honest, simple, old-fashioned food. We left and said thank you. Although subtle, you can sense the gratitude from the boss himself when he nodded his acknowledgement and a soft "thank you" in return. This place is definitely in my list each time we...

The dry noodles cannot hold its own.

Don't taste like much effort was put in making the sauce and without the flavour of pork lard.

The noodles is a main part of the dish. And if that doesn't make it.... How to give it anything but 2 stars.

However, the Yong Tau Foo is tasty... And then also... The meatball and fish ball should be cut in the middle like most other places... But that is not done... So because of this... It can earn a 3 star review from me.

Sorry but hard to say "can go support"... More like... If you got no other options... Then...

This place really bring back the nostalgic taste of hee kiaw that I used to eat as a child. Love their kway teow which was thicker and more chewy than what we get in kl/pj. Their char siew was also very flavorful and they added pork lard which enhanced the taste. Will come back here next time...
