A Melaka Morsel Memoir: The Boss Curry House Experience
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A hidden gem in the heart of Melaka, Boss Curry House is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Indian culinary experience. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by the warm, traditional decor and the lively Indian music that sets the stage for a memorable meal.
We initially aimed for banana leaf rice at another local favorite but found ourselves at Boss Curry House due to unexpected renovations. Although we arrived before the banana leaf rice was available, the breakfast selection did not disappoint. The roti canai was flaky perfection, and the todai was delightfully spongy – both excellent companions to the richly flavored varuval chicken.
The service was swift, ensuring our impromptu brunch was not only delicious but also timely, allowing us to savor every moment with our visiting family members. The authenticity of flavors and the vibrant atmosphere made for an unforgettable dining experience.
As we parted ways, our hearts were as full as our stomachs, and we left with warm wishes for our young scholars' return to their studies in Singapore.

Read moreThis Indian breakfast/lunch restaurant that specializes on banana leaf meals and biryani sets on Jalan Bendahara, Melaka claims to be the best in the area. It is still slightly pricey, but the food quality has dropped from my last visit 4 years ago. The banana leaf rice is served on a silver plate laced with 2 half banana leafs - it was not appropriate as the food tends to go under the leaf. The curries are watered down. Do try their briyanis with a lassi. The briyanis are made with the best basmati rice, so it's not too dry. The meat provided with the briyani was adequate. The staff are friendly and attentive as always. The ambiance is good, well air conditioned with wide ample dining space. RECOMMENDED TO TRY : Chicken briyani, prawn biryani, bamboo biryani, chicken varuval, mutton masala, fish fry, banana leaf set rice if you can overlook the half banana leaves on a plate, lassi...
Read moreThe banana leaf food was good .The restaurant offers several curry options to go along with it. The sunrise coffee was 👍🏽.
My brother and I ordered the chicken biryani. To be honest, it was one of the most underwhelming chicken biryanis I’ve ever had. It lacked the spiciness, aroma, and rich flavor that a good biryani should have. It just tasted like very ordinary rice to me. The restaurant could definitely put in more effort to improve this dish.
Service could also be faster. As for the ambience, it was just okay and could definitely be improved.
We came to this restaurant because one of our favorite restaurant in the area was closed, so we thought, “Why not give this one a try?” Unfortunately, the overall dining experience wasn’t great and didn’t feel worth it.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the taste, ambience, and...
