Tôi đã đến đây vs thấy có rất nhiều góc tự sướng😎😎😎 Christ Church Malacca is an 18th-century Anglican church in the city of Malacca City, Malaysia. It is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia and is within the jurisdiction of the Lower Central Archdeaconry of the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia

The Dutch conquest of Malacca from the Portuguese Empire in 1641 saw the proscription of Roman Catholicism and the conversion of existing churches to Dutch Reformed use. The old St. Paul's Church at the summit of St. Paul Hill was renamed the Bovenkerk (Upper Church) and used as the main parish church of the Dutch community.

In 1741, in commemoration of the centenary of the capture of Malacca from the Portuguese, the Dutch burgher community decided to build a new church to replace the ageing Bovenkerk. The foundation stone was laid by the Malacca born Captain of the Malacca Burghers, Abraham de Wind, on behalf of his father, Claas de Wind, a prominent Burgher who had been the Secunde (Deputy Governor) of Malacca. The church was completed 12 years later in 1753 and replaced the Bovenkerk as the primary Dutch Reformed Church in Dutch Malacca.2

With the signing of the Anglo-Dutch Treaty of 1824, possession of Malacca was transferred to the British East India Company and in 1838, the church was re-consecrated with the rites of the Church of England by Daniel Wilson, Bishop of Calcutta and renamed Christ Church. The maintenance of the church was taken over by the Government of the Straits Settlements in 1858.[4]

Originally painted white, the church and the neighbouring Stadthuys building was painted red in 1911 and this distinctive colour scheme has remained the hallmark of Malacca's Dutch-era...

I really love the simple design of this church. Sadly I wasn’t able to get in because it was closed that time. Around the Church are nice old buildings that have the same color of the Church even the streets. I was walking along the area. Been to the shops beside the river. Even tried the river cruise. And been to the ruins and old cemetery. It was nice to visit in the place we’re are rich in history. Of course I love old things, history, architecture, and nature. For me Malacca was really incredible city and people are very nice. They have nice food also. Clean and fascinating buildings and nature. I will definitely go back to this City In Malaysia. I think there are too many things that I must know and discover in Malacca since it was one of the oldest and heritage city in Malaysia. It was amazing so discovered some of their historic events in the older time. I love the old buildings and until now people can see and enjoy it. I admired how olden time constructions are very durable and artistic. I feel so safe walking on the streets because people are very nice and respectful. And also I noticed how responsible they are in terms of rules and regulations on the streets. For nature wise Malacca has it all. And also I like because no concrete jungles Or let’s say skyscrapers like the biggest City in...

Christ Church is a landmark in Melaka. Built by the Dutch in the mid-18th century, it is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia. Built in typical 18th century Dutch architectural style, the building is noted not only for its colorful façade but for its contents, too. Among them are a bell cast in 1698; tombstones, written in Portuguese that are incorporated into the church floor, and a brass Bible stand. It is now an Anglican church.

The building is well preserved. The place is clean and safe. A lots of souvenir shop lot here. Have beca very creative and beautiful. They decorate the beca with cartoons character and put some speakers playing songs. The kids really love it and the driver will ask you what song you want to hear. Which is very nice. Congrats to Malacca government for preserved one of the most valuable place in the world.

Historical malacca. Lots of good memory of healing. Good place for photography. Please make sure bring some water afternoon might be quite hot. If feel thirsty don't forget to try cendol it's really need on the hot whether.. #UNESCOworldheritagesite #Malacca #history #redchurch #parameswara...

Christ Church is the red church building located in the back of the small Dutch Square in the heart of Malacca. This is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia dating to the 18th century. As such, it is worth a few minutes of your time when visiting this part of the city center. The church is built in the classic Dutch architectural style of the colonial period and is quite attractive from the outside being well situated behind the Queen Victoria's Fountain. From these vantage points, it is well worth a few clicks of your camera before proceeding into the church. Photography is not allowed inside the church but that is ok. It is quite simple and modestly decorated once inside and after exploring for a few minutes, you'll probably be ready to head back out and enjoy the square. The Christ Church is one of several places that you can visit on the Dutch Square, including the Stadthuys and a host of small museums that run around St. Paul's Hill. Its a nice area to spend a few hours when visiting Malacca.
