This is by far the worse fine dine experience ever. Paying premium just to dine into a dilapidated building is terrible. I am particularly sensitive to mold and I kept sneezing while dining there. It is very obvious the place is not clean as the wall has been in ruin state for many years and the owner just refurbish certain part of the place and open a restaurant, please be aware you are operating a fine dine RESTAURANT, hygiene should be a priority, I do understand you want to like preserve art but at the same time retaining mold and bacteria at the cost of the customer health is utterly foolish. I would suggest you to redo the wall painting and do deep cleaning in the premise before operating. The seats is not clean I got bug bite while dining as well.
Apart from that the service is as per fine dine, the staff is very attentive to all request.
Food i particularly terrible if you want to put it into fine dine category, taste is some what ok but not up to standard. For the price paid you can get more value other places just for the food quality. I had diarrhea twice upon eating caponata pasta, there were very few customer dining I am not sure if the sauce is freshly prepared or has been kept for few days and just reheat upon ordering. I had the same food with my wife for lunch and breakfast she did not had diarrhea so probably the cause is from the dinner i dine in.
In conclusion the ambience 0/10, food 3/10 service 10/10.
If you are very rich and want to have an bad dining experience i would recommend to go otherwise go to...
Read moreDear Atapas,
Yesterday, I came with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was sadly a bad experience. My wife made a reservation and as soon as we reached your door step we saw your staffs murmuring and looking at us as if we were lost. To my surprise, instead of asking if we made a reservation, the first thing your staff said was "sorry, all tables are full". That was a turn off, we said we made the reservation and they continued talking in their local dialect but finally took use to our table. Our expectation of fine dining was more of a refined and quiet ambience environment but our table was probably not at the best location because the surrounding was noisy. We requested for "cold sparkling" but was served with room temperature. We ordered a 3 course meal and specifically the maincourse was steak with individually preferred temperature and sauce. But it was flipped and we got the opposites. We ordered a medium and well done steaks. Then when we requested for change, I think based on our experience, the medium was a almost rare and the well done was slightly under cooked. We did not want to keep sending our food to be changed. Our bill was RM8++ . For the amount we paid, the services was bad, food could have been better considering the price and this just left a bad experience in total. A night to celebrate was turned into a night of disappointment. I hope this experience was just a mistake and not because of...
Read moreI had the opportunity to sample few dishes from this restaurant. This quaint and unassuming restaurant is tuck within a lorong in Ipoh city. There is ample of carpark but filled with gravel and this may post some accessibility issue for elderly. When getting into your vehicles, expect a few stones to tag along.
Our expectations were sky high looking at all previous reviews on this restaurant. We ordered carbonara pasta and asparagus risotto for our mains. The servers explain well on the dishes. I would say the carbonara pasta was a let down. For it to command a price near to RM40, it should have great flavour sauce. The parmesan cheese could be swapped with parmigiano reggiano and I think it is pretty hard to find a replacement guanciale (due to halal offerings). It is too steep of an ask for the quality given. Risotto dish was normal. The good thing about this dish is it has crunchy asparagus.
We ended the meal with two deserts which are coconut mango trifle and apple crumble. This time when the server explain the dishes, it starts to annoy me. Earlier when they first explain a plain carbonara was quite amusing but did not find such enjoyment on the desserts. The explanation was too pretentious. Maybe provide options to the diners if the dishes needed explanation. Some dishes do need this if the process to make it is complex or the ingredients used are rare.
Food is average. Price is steep. Server are...
