I was originally excited when Luretta D.OP. finally reopened after the Isetan outlet was forced to close. Went there for afternoon lunch today, looking forward to all my usual favourites that I enjoyed so much but oh was I sorely disappointed.
Covid SOP violations: Workers (even those in the kitchen) did not bother to mask up properly. Most of them had the mask placed below their noses or pulled all the way down to the chin.
Sub-par food despite increase in prices: I understand the need to increase prices during these times and I'd happily pay for it if they were able to continously deliver good food. However, the food is no longer as good as it used to be. My favourite truffle pasta was bland and the lasagna was mostly pasta sheets with very little sauce and meat in between each sheet. The portion for the cold cuts had reduced by half and it was supposed to be served with a pickled side dish (as per the menu) but what I got was Caeser Salad Dressing!!!!!!!!!! Only after I complained, they told me that they were out of pickled side dish and replaced it with black olives as shown in pic.
FYI at this point in time, the new Luretta outlet had already opened for over a month. The manager explained that the staff is still getting used to the new location, which honestly a very lame excuse. Fact is, I paid full price for sub-par food.
Bad service: Masking issues aside, the staff failed to even speak and understand basic english. The waiter failed to tell us that the cheese cold cut that I originally wanted was sold out and almost took our order wrongly. Failed to tell us that they were out of pickled side dish for the cold cut until it was served. When I complained about my missing pickled side dish, the waiter looked at me with confused expression, not knowing what I was asking for. After lots of hand signage and pointing, he finally gave me black olives and told me they were out of pickled side dishes.
The table behind us had the same experience and expressed their dissatisfaction with the poor service, but what was appalling was that the staff just laughed him off and tapped him at the back as if they were long time friends. Needless to say, the table behind us sent back their order and refused to pay for it.
Luretta D.O.P just lost a loyal customer. I'm never...
Read moreA proper Italian dining experience. A truly well deserved 5-stars.
Ambiance: 4.5, but only because the surroundings were a little louder due to the restaurant being in a busy mall. Otherwise enjoyable aesthetics. Helps that you get to see the prep and oven goods come right out. Clean and tidy place.
Service: 5, absolutely delightful wait staff. Asked for recommendations of cold cuts/cheeses and the waiter went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed what was picked, and even explained the origins/background of the dishes. These extra touches really elevates the dining experience. Always willing to help and serve.
Food: 5 Porchetta salad - fresh greens with some light dressing helped to even out the fattiness of the decadent thinly sliced porchetta. Roasted to perfection, and just one of the delicious smells you'll be greeted with as you dine here.
Cold cuts and cheeses - limited variety, but what they do have is pure gastronomic bliss. The honeydew jam was a highlight, giving the cheeses a new layer of flavour. Started with only 2 cold cuts, ended up adding on another two, and cheeses as well.
Carbonara - simple spaghetti carbonara with bacon. But don't let that simplicity fool you. It has a rich flavour, and the colour and taste of the egg yolks used to prepare the dish comes through clearly. Add the salty bacon into the equation and you have a dish that just demands to be eaten.
Tiramisu - rounding off the meal was this delicious slice of cake. Soft enough that it just melts in your mouth, but firm enough so that it still maintains its consistency. Coupled with the sauce, and you have a mouthwatering ending. Made me want more despite my belly starting to show through my shirt.
Needless to say, I enjoyed my experience here thoroughly. Be prepared to pay upwards of RM 70 for a full meal, but only because you'll keep wanting to have more. Looking forward to returning and sampling their other offerings. Thank you for a great...

Luretta DOP at 1 Utama offers a delightful Italian dining experience that's sure to tantalize your taste buds. During my recent visit, I was treated to a feast of good pasta, lasagna, and a heavenly tiramisu that left a lasting impression.
The pasta dishes at Luretta DOP are a testament to Italian culinary tradition. They are excellently prepared, with a focus on quality and flavor. The freshness of the ingredients shines through, making each bite a delightful experience.
The lasagna, a classic Italian favorite, is a must-try. It's clear that care is taken in crafting this dish, resulting in layers of rich and savory goodness.
For dessert, the tiramisu takes center stage. It's not your average tiramisu; it's elevated to a whole new level with a generous dollop of cream, a hint of alcohol, and a brandy topping. This dessert is simply to die for, and I would return just for another serving of it.
Service at Luretta DOP is commendable. The staff are attentive and ensure that your dining experience is comfortable and enjoyable.
While the quality of the dishes is unquestionable, it's worth noting that Lauretta DOP leans towards the higher end in terms of pricing. However, the good wine and alcohol cocktail selection available provides excellent options for pairing with your meal.
In conclusion, Luretta DOP at 1 Utama is a haven for Italian cuisine enthusiasts. With its focus on quality, fresh ingredients, and exceptional tiramisu, it offers a dining experience that's worth the occasional splurge. If you appreciate good pasta and Italian classics, this restaurant is a must-visit.
