Visited again, the food has improved but the portion is now less, still worth coming for the lunch set. The Tako wasabi is even fresher than before which is great 😃.
The sashimi portions are now smaller but it has an even more refined taste. The sushi rolls are still full of ingredients and the quality of them seem to have increased.
The service staff isn't as attentive as before but the food still comes out rather quickly and piping hot especially the chawanmushi.
Overall, still a great experience.
Thank you for reading my review 😊
Prev Review: Another place I frequent and often forget to give a review. If I'm being honest throughout my 4 years of dining Sushiya has had it's ups and downs in quality. However when it's up it's really really up there in terms of quality and taste among the few omakase I have tried. The sashimi is huge, fresh and a delight to savour. Not to mention the chawanmushi's and other authentic Japanese dishes that often come with the lunch menu which has significantly increased value for those who are tighter on a budget and are willing to splurge for a special occasion (rm60+ with tax for lunch set and tea). The taste of these dishes are as authentic as you can get. Give it a try! Ps. They have a new Sushiya lunch set featuring cheese topped Salmon with fish eggs....
Read moreTo be honest , I recommend their food, especially their uni croquette, serve hot. So far their food and the price is reasonable. Chawanmushi is smooth.
Here the story came, their service is lousy. This server I don't know her name , but her attitude was giving uncomfortable. Yesterday my friend and I entered to Sushiya, the way she offered our a table is pointing and guiding like a dog. That time i felt like me and my friend did we did any wrong. No ever giving a friendly guiding and luckily she wearing a mask, but under her mask I dont think she giving a smile on any customers. And the way she put our food on our table was like throwing. Come on, is a plate, we can feel it because she put the plate on the table is bang bang sound. If u guys have cctv better check it yourself, actually no a serious case, but I think Sushiya company need to give some training on those servers. I'm a customer from Hospitality Management industry, I understand sometimes people will frustrated if busy, but i cant see that day was that busy. However even your servers giving a little bit hospitality serving, a fake smile and talk nicely ,I won't give a bad review for this. But that server made me felt that we owe her money, and her service...
Read moreI have been here so many times Ive lost count!
But I love the food here - the sushi sizes are slightly bigger than usual & they serve great winter specials. I come here w my family & we love the shirako, ankimo & the oysters.
Well-priced for the quality of the food. Not even going to talk about freshness cause their supplies come in every Tuesday & Friday just like the other Japanese restaurants.
Good sushi- suggest to give the Madai, Kanpachi and hirame a try. Also would recommend the saba & the kohada for those who enjoy fishier/stronger taste.
I am not a big fan of tuna & salmon in general, but we had the otoro and the salmon and they were good.
We like their Takosu (appetiser) and their ikura chawamushi. We always finish w some yuzu sorbet ice cream.
Service is always top notch, fast & the head chef is a Japanese and he’s always ready to explain to the patrons about the food they serve.
Always an enjoyable experience. Ive bring many people here and they love it and...
