TGI Friday's 1 Utama: A Reliable Classic with a Minor Hiccup

My recent visit to TGI Friday's 1 Utama with a group of four was a mostly positive experience. The food lived up to expectations, maintaining the quality I've known for over two decades since trying them in Subang Parade.

Hits:

Consistent Food Quality: The dishes we ordered - Three For All, Chicken Fajitas Nacho, Friday Signature Chicken, and Friday Signature Salmon - were all delicious and on par with past experiences. Warm Ambiance: The restaurant offered a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual get-together.

Slight Miss:

Kids Menu Restriction: We were disappointed to learn that we couldn't order from the kids' menu despite being light eaters and ordering two main courses. This policy could be more flexible for smaller appetites.

Service:

Overall, the service was good. Staff were attentive and helpful, except for the aforementioned kids' menu issue.

When asked if there was room for 10 diners, the usher went in to check and returned to assure that the table was being cleaned and prepared. Soon after, she went back in and didn't return so after several minutes, my party went in and were directed to the an empty corner.

It became apparent that the previous patrons had just left because the cleaning had just started. The staff were just sweeping scraps from the tables onto the floor so I had to insist that they clean the mess under the tables. Moreover, the tables were not wiped properly and they had to be asked to redo the job. Not a good start to the occasion.

The waiting time for the food was acceptable considering the crowd and the food was good enough except for the ribs. They were among the worst we ever had. The meat was dry and tough instead of falling away from the bones and we had to use our hands and teeth to tear at the meat. If not for the ribs, we would have scored 4 stars for the food.

Hopefully, this is not the usual dining experience here as we were first time patrons but, if I'm going anywhere for BBQ ribs, this...

Always pass by but never got the feels to pay a visit until today. Was warmly ushered into a nice seating booth. The place has an American diner feels with sports playing on TV and a bar with selections of drinks that suits your fancy.

Wide range of food on the menu. Settled for calamari to start, BBQ beef burger and chicken tandoori fajitas as mains. Calamari was average. Nothing wow. But I was so happy with my beef burger 🍔. Was huge and delicious! I appreciate hot fries and this came out hot..my burger also came with 4 onion rings on it which added a nice flavour mingling with the juicy patty and sauces. Nobody talks about burgers buns but I'm here to let you know it's buttery and toasty! So good! The fajitas came in a sizzling hot plate and the delicious smell instantly hits you! Nice medley of flavours. I recommend the fajitas. The portion for both meals were generous.

Along with the nice hospitality and customer service by the staffs, I will definitely return. Please keep up the standards and good work. The chef definitely did...
