I’ve tried the SS15 Subang branch and it served the best dry mala I’ve ever had. However, my experience at the Puchong branch was EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTING. The food appeared to have been left out for a long time and was clearly not fresh. It felt like old ingredients were being reused, possibly because they weren’t sold in time.
As a result, two of my colleagues experienced stomach discomfort the next day. This is very concerning and reflects poorly on your food safety standards.
It’s especially disappointing because your restaurant has had the honour of being featured on 8TV 八度空间’s Ho Chak! A well known food programme. I expected much better, and it’s unfortunate that the Puchong branch is damaging the good reputation built by your other outlets.
In addition, the Sarawak Kolo Mee served at the Puchong outlet was stale and bland, even other local options like 面对面 taste significantly better. This further confirms that the issue lies in ingredient quality and freshness.
Please take urgent steps to improve the quality of food at the Puchong branch. We urge you to dispose of any expired ingredients and upgrade your food inventory. Please do not serve customers food that may be unsafe. Quality control is essential to maintaining trust and customer...
Read moreThe Sarawak Laksa is very unexpectedly good. Very flavourful soup. Belacan notes comes out very nicely, very rich. The mihun is slightly thicker but very nicely cooked to translucence while keeping a bite feel. Prawns are actually better than expected because in the menu photo prawns looked translucent and soaked in something before but the real prawns were not as bad as expected.
I am actually absolutely not familiar with Sarawak food. But the Sarawak Laksa served here is complex and dimensional in its soup flavours. However, all other ingredients just pale in comparison to the soup and mihun. Even the sambal was not really adding much to the laksa. The sambal flavour seems overpowered by the soup (maybe the soup is just done too nicely 😂). I am now converted to become a Sarawak food fan.
This place is a random and unexpected find. It looks too contemporary to actually have a substantial local fare, but I was wrong. I am very likely to come back for the laksa and to try other Sarawak dishes. Price is reasonable while environment is quite new, clean...
Read moreCame here for lunch. Wondering what to eat on the Saturday noon and passed by this restaurant. So take it a try.
They have Sarawak/Sibu dishes and Mala hotpot. Varieties of choice to choose. I had been to Kuching and Sibu. So tried the kampua mee and Sarawak laksa before.
Ordered Sarawak laksa special with seafood and special Hochiak Signature Kopi. I ordered mixed noodles-kolo mixed with mihoon. Taste great too. Love the broth. My Sarawak trip memory came back instantly. Food is delicious. The kopi is taste slightly different from KL type. We added a toast set too. It comes with butter kaya toast, 2 eggs and a drink, tea. The toast, you have to spread the butter and kaya on yourself.
There is breakfast set promotion on weekday with toast set RM8.50. Another breakfast promo is order any main food, you get a hot drink with RM0.10 or cold drink with RM1.
Price is reasonable and staffs are friendly.
