Heard about this for quite some time and read the reviews. The exterior looked inviting and the first impression as walking into the resto/bar was good. The waiters greeted us inside. As we walked, we noticed the cake shelf. The cake slices were average sized and looked on the expensive side for the portions displayed. Have no comments on that since I didn't order them. The slices didn't look appetizing to me.
The staff showed us a place to sit. We were tempted to sit outside on the benches as it had a nice breezy atmosphere. Would have been nice to enjoy some beers with friends on a lazy Saturday afternoon. We decided on the inside to see how things were. We just wanted to try out this place being the first time here. It was quiet at 4pm. Just 2 other tables were occupied. Rumbled through the menu. A combo of western and eastern cuisine. Couldn't put a finger on what type of place this is. It had Boraji and Chicken Rice. The western flavors were Fish & Chips, Steak, Sandwiches, etc. Drinks were a combo of the usual alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
We decided on Walnut Monsieur (Turkey Ham with cheese of 4 pieces mini club sandwiches and fries) and a hot latte. Price came up to RM41.30. For simple sandwiches RM24??? Wow! While waiting for the food to arrive, the waiter placed 2 plates and cutlery by the side. As I arranged the plates and cutlery, I noticed one of the forks had a food stain. What a put off!!! Most people would brush it off, some would call the staff for a replacement. To me this shows the lack of cleanliness attitude by the back-end staff to ensure utensils and serving items to be pristine and clean condition. I am sick and tired of informing waiters on many occasions about cleanliness. We decided to use only one fork and moved on.
We sat for a while, chit-chatting, letting the food settle. The staff had little interest to see if we needed anything else (water, more drinks, desserts, etc). We decided to walk over to the payment counter and exit the premises.
Several things which made 2 star is sufficient for this place. Waiters are busy doing their chores. It's a balance between keeping an eye on customers all the time and doing the chores. Place was quiet so it's not difficult for staff to notice the customer frantically waving hands to attract attention for service. Dread to think when the place has more people, especially during peak times.
Apart from the initial welcome greet, the staff were least bothered about the customers. The one who took our order was so robotic that I thought he had some communication issue. Why can't resto operators spend time and money on front serving staff to be courteous, friendly, and attentive to customers? Another reason why I am skeptical of going to new places despite raving reviews by others.
Another important area which I always check out is the washroom. For such a large establishment (ground and mezzanine floor), there is only one toilet for men and women each on the ground floor. There could be another on the upper floor but I didn't go there. But the fact remains, imagine during peak times there would be a line outside to get in there. Cleanliness was average. A bit dark on the lighting. Seemed a bit like a sleazy joint. Another which didn't seem to fit to the washroom entrance is, rather than having the entrance at a more discreet area, there is only a curtain right in the middle at the back which separates the dining and washroom entrance. Just didn't cut it for me.
Cleanliness is just average. Nothing to shout about. I have already mentioned what transpired so won't be repeating it.
There's something about this place which didn't quite catch my attention. Will I come back? Very likely not. The atmosphere is bland and uninviting. It's just another eatery, without substance, Many might disagree with my comments. I have been to smaller places but had good vibes and presence that I kept...
Read moreI have been to this place numerous times. Not because the food is great, but because it is convenient. However, I visited this place again yesterday and was sorely disappointed for reasons stated below.
Cleanliness For some reason, there were flies at our table even before the food arrived. There were at least 2 pesky flies just hanging out with us at our table. And they were there throughout. This tells me that the table has not been properly cleaned. What's worse is that they leave the plates and utensils out on the table before customers arrive.
I went there when they just opened for business at 11am. There was a tall bin beside the sink where you wash your hands at the toilet. It was overflowing with tissue paper, which means it was never cleaned out the day before.
I then also saw that the place was rated C for cleanliness. So I hope that the owners will try to strive for A instead of being proud with a C.
Food & Price We ordered one Johnny English Breakfast (I think that was the name) and a Wagyu Burger. The Breakfast looked extremely pathetic. It had 2 eggs, baked beans, 1 or 2 coral leaves, 1 hash brown, 1 sausage, 2 ham slices, and probably 6 cut up pieces of mushroom (i.e. less than a handful). And get this- all for (approx. I threw the receipt.) RM 30!!! Extremely exorbitant for such a meagre portion.
The Burger was also less than appealing- slapped on with lots of Thousand Island sauce served on a paper. Obviously I had bits of paper in my burger when it's so sloppy. The patty was not juicy at all when I expect Wagyu to be! It was also poorly seasoned. We did enjoy their fried chips though- that was creative. This cost us more than RM 30. If the patty was better, I wouldn't mind paying that money.
Over all, with tax included in, the bill amounted to around RM70+ (no drinks). I always knew this place was a bit overpriced but this time, with the mediocre service and less than mediocre food, and the aloofness when it comes to hygiene, I think I will avoid this place...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had the pleasure of trying a few dishes and drinks at this cozy spot, and I was truly impressed!
Lemongrass Drink: The lemongrass drink was incredibly refreshing. It had just the right balance of sweetness and a fragrant, citrusy zing that made it perfect for cooling off on a warm day. A delightful twist from the usual drinks.
Lamb Chop: The lamb chop was cooked to perfection. Juicy and tender with a well-seasoned crust. The flavors were rich, with a nice balance of herbs and spices that really made this dish stand out.
Waffle Ice Cream: The waffle ice cream dessert was heavenly. The waffle was crispy on the outside yet soft inside, paired perfectly with creamy ice cream. It's the perfect indulgent treat for those with a sweet tooth!
All Day Big Breakfast: The all-day big breakfast was hearty and satisfying. Great for a filling start to the day or even as a brunch option.
There are few parking lot reserved for customers, so convenient.
