Tried this place 2 days ago. Not to my likings & worth the value to be honest for spending RM24+ for such a meal. Their Yuan Yang C kosong doesn’t have any tea nor coffee taste except for milk. U can basically tell from the colour of the drink. Kuih Sengkuang has too much pepper in it; can’t taste the dried shrimps even though they put them in. Their toasts are quite disappointing, given the name of the cafe they should put more attentions in making them. French Toast Banana Chocolate - usually banana & chocolate goes well together but in their case, really doesn’t. Although they are generous with the amount of bananas yet they are way too soggy, the milk chocolate drizzle is just too much, personally for me… the whole toast just doesn’t go well together. Egg Toast with Kaya - the bread is separated from the egg coating which means the breads are not properly soaked in the eggs. It is as if I’m eating the bread & egg separately & kaya separately. Environment wise, hope the owner can improve their ventilation… the A/C is basically blowing out the smokey smell from their kitchen, which is a bit unpleasant unlike the fragrant smell of food. Plus there are flies… When asked staff to wipe the table, he just wipe a corner instead of the...
Read moreThe food was delectable and the portion was generous, but personally, the size of the drinks were quite small. However, the overall taste was still up to the par and satisfying.
The only thing that I suggest the management to take note of is the terms and conditions of the promotion.
The promotion is about free kaya butter toast or egg mayo toast (only one) after pressing like for their FB page and share their post. I ordered both food items mentioned with other food and drinks in a single receipt, expecting the cashier to deduct the price of the egg mayo toast from the receipt. However, they deducted the price of the kaya butter toast instead of egg mayo toast.
When I inquired the staff about the promotion before placing my order, they didn’t mention about this - they only deducted the lower-priced item if the customers ordered both items. If they did mention this term and condition, then I would not order kaya butter toast.
This was somehow quite disappointing because the management already decided to let the customers get a free egg mayo toast anyway, which was priced higher than another one, than why not deducting the higher-priced item?...
Read moreThe Toast at Bandar Puteri has a nice, clean setup with a pleasant ambience that makes it a comfortable place to dine in. The service is decent, though it's worth noting that the staff are mostly foreigners. While they're polite and attentive, communication can be a little challenging. Some basic training in Bahasa or English might help ease the interaction barrier.
Like many places these days, ordering is done via a QR code. I had trouble scanning it at first—turns out the overhead lighting was affecting my phone’s ability to read the code. Bright or reflective lighting can cause flickering on the screen and confuse the scanner. A quick tip: move the QR code away from direct light and it should scan just fine.
I ordered the classic nasi lemak with fried egg, mee siam, and kopi C kosong. The nasi lemak was surprisingly fragrant and flavorful, and I appreciated that you can ask for extra sambal at no additional cost. However, the mee siam was a bit dry and oily, and the fried egg was also on the oily side.
Overall, a decent experience—worth a try if you’re in the area and want something...
