LianShuiQing Noodles — Restaurant in Malé

The food is amazing, their (jiaozi) dumplings are even better than I’ve had anywhere in China. However, the staff are kind of strange - we had been 3 times and last time we went a waiter came and asked if we were here yesterday, we said yes and he said your bill was 225 right? I said I can’t remember and he asked if I could check my banking app to which I said I paid in cash then it got very awkward until he walked away without telling us the reason. We then asked the male Chinese boss (this guy is the best and friendliest member of staff) who apologized and said because the money in the till didn’t add up from service yesterday so they are asking everyone who has came back. This is extremely unprofessional from the waiters, you cannot go to customers days later and ask them to check their banking app for how much they paid, I couldn’t believe it. Like I said, the male Chinese boss is great but also the female Chinese boss is so uninviting and is not friendly at all, I think the building would collapse if she smiled.

The place is really cool and the service was amazing. The servers are really nice and you can see the Chef’s making the food live in front of you since you can sorta peek into the kitchen.

However me and my girlfriend didn’t enjoy the food one bit 😭 It was really bland, we both ordered the Noodle Soup, and the presentation was remarkable and it was a really large portion considering the cheap price. However the food didn’t taste very good. It tasted extremely bland and we both had a tough time finishing our food (we couldn’t in the end unfortunately)

The servers and the Chef’s all seem great though and the decor and everything else about the restaurant is really fun and unique

The new Chinese cashier is quite rude. Only focused on her phone, even though we were standing in front of the counter waiting for ordering. She was annoyed that we disturbed her for using her phone and sounded she was not willing to serve us. Working with such a bad attitude will make your restaurant lose more customers.
