Ratatouille — Restaurant in Malé

Ratatouille has become a popular hang out for locals in Hulhumale and it's not hard to see why. They have created a relaxed environment with small outdoor seating areas to the front, air conditioned interior seating and a rear garden. All feature wood and flowers that make for an attractive setting. Have headed here just for a coffee, but on separate occasions have been tempted with the afternoon tea and breakfast eggs benedict. Certainly the afternoon tea looked to be popular for a girls get together, served with pretty cups and saucers and a mix of hedikaa, sandwiches and sweet treats. Felt it to be good value for money. The eggs benedict was actually one of the best we have had in Hulhumale, with the right amount of sauce - will be back for another! Eat at your own RISK!

While waiting for our meal, i was shocked to see one of their staff in kitchen tasting from the pot while stirring with the wooden ladle, and repeatedly tasting and stirring. We pointed this out to duty manager, to which she apologized.

Once we left without obviously eating, I got a call from manager explaining that he was tasting from a served dish, which honestly doesn't make any sense. How can a thing like this be allowed to happen, this is basic hygiene that should be imbibed during training staff

The food was so amazing, taste was spot on. Beef in the burger was very well seasoned, could tell the difference right away. Satay stick was delicious, very well cooked. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The drinks were an absolute thrill. However, there was a big downfall - service. The service was horrible. Very slow and quite unprofessional frankly. Our waiter Rana shrugged when asked if we can have the soup first and rice later. If the service could be improved it would be so much better. It was shocking how long we had to wait to get hold of a waiter - there were only two tables in the restaurant including us...
