The Metro — Restaurant in Malé

First and the last time metro experience, ⁃ Tables were not cleaned up ⁃ The moment we set, was asked to order (what to do we know what’s available?) ⁃ Had to show the table to cleanup, only cleanup up half of the table and that not clearly too ⁃ There were 4 of us at the beginning, informed the waiter that there are two more coming and their water /glasses didn’t come for the 1hr 30mins we were there ⁃ Took so long for the drinks to come ⁃ The drinks were so bland and bad. ⁃ In details, iced coffee with icecream was clearly not with icecream and it was more watery, pineapple smoothie was bitter and very bad, oreo milkshake too sweet that she requested for ice cubes which she did not get for a 1 hr, Thai Ice Lemon Tea was also bland, it was like a regular iced lemon tea but with no flavor ⁃ Oh and the hot chocolate and Iced Latte? We wouldn’t know cause we didn’t get it for the one hour since we ordered ⁃ In that hour we asked about two/three times where the drinks were and the waiter said it was coming, but that one hour later the waiter and asks for the order again and we said we no longer needed it since we had to leave ⁃ And we were billed for the iced latte we did not get ⁃ The chips were bland, sauce from the bottle was alright then? ⁃ “Our cozy cafe’” was very cozy indeed but everything else? You’ll know the answer...

We went for the new year dinner buffet and was thoroughly disappointed and disgusted. Every single item on the buffet was terrible. The rice seemed undercooked and stale with hard pieces. The chicken was dry and rock hard. Even the potatoes and vegetables were inedible. The tuna tasted like it had gone bad. Even the dessert was poor with unripe fruit. We were barely able to eat a few bites before asking waiter to take the plates away, and yet they didn't bother to even question why the full plates were sent off. Even with the few bites we are left with upset stomachs. Despite the terrible quality of food this restaurant had the audacity to charge more than 300 for this buffet which is 10x worse than even the 70rf dinner buffets at Malé food court. When we told the waiter about our disappointment he gave a sarcastic smile and asked if I want to talk to the Chef. Absolutely...

Absolutely terrible experience. This was by far the worst food I’ve ever had. The pictures on Instagram looked nothing like what was served totally misleading. The food not only looked bad but tasted even worse. When I pointed it out, the waiter just took the dish away without even asking or offering a solution. Is this what they call customer service? Even I was eating the food and never asked should he take it or not 😞

I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs. Extremely...
