I’m a Malaysian expat in Maldives. I went to Mamak for mamak food and guess what! Craving fulfilled! 😃 I’ve been trying nasi lemak all over Male n Hulhumale since last December and this so far is the best cos the sambal is on point. Rendang needs an upgrade but overall taste of the dish definitely pass!💪💪 Then I dumped the sambal into my dhal for roti canai - spot on! I wouldn’t mind some froth on my teh tarik but it was still syiok! My only comment, use better ikan bilis and kacang for the NL. Would return for sure when the cravings come again. Keep it up guys! :) P\S: My friend’s burger&fries was pretty decent too, but who cares, it’s not ramly burger 😅🤪

Quite a small place, near the central park. Its upstairs on the first floor. Inside is nice. Comfy seating. Service was ok- minimum effort. Food wasnt that good either. My Chicken Fried Rice was tasteless and i had to ask for extra Soy sauce just to add some flavor. My wife's Club Sandwich didnt have enough meat and came with a very small portion of fries and it didnt taste great. Prices are on typical hulhumale price range. Value for money 3/5

There is a secret menu item that you have to specifically ask for to be made. "Crispy Chilli Koththu Roshi" It's spicy, crispy and an innovative and differently delicious take on the normal Koththu. Best consumed fresh on premises. It's a must try.

I don't know if I should give 3 stars, or 5, because their food is flawless, but their service is messed up ..i mean like kick-the-damn-guy-out messed up..which brings this question about: just how much would u tolerate in the name of good food? the guys that answer the phone, they sound like I'm calling their wives in the middle of the night. I called just now to ask for a delivery, and they said delivery starts at 6pm. So I asked him to take my order now, to deliver when services began at 6, and he asked me to call back later. Fair enough, eh? Then I hung up and thought I will send someone to pick up a mamak takeaway (that's how great their food is...not the Malaysian dishes only, btw..even their Indian, Sri Lankan, yum and arrrghhh! 😤), So I called back, more than a dozen times, and they didn't answer!!!!! I've got visitors and no time to cook, I'm desperate, not a stalker! I've a good mind to go there and shout this out by script! 😡😡😡 (5mins later) Anyway, ranting aside, mamak has a wonderful chef! Eat in or take out, do not call for delivery in...

Service is so slow, after 45mins they told us the menu order is not available. when asked what took them so long to tell us. Answered "other customers"... whatever that means!!!

The food was not even close to the Malay food... We shouldn't even expect it! cox staff weren't skilled to cooking Malay Style... it was so horrible...

I love Malay food, but I do not recommend Mamak to experience Malay style food... it is a dishonor to Malay...
