I went to this restaurant with a group of friends, but only my friend and I ordered the rabbit dish. Huge mistake. We were the only ones who ate it – and we were the only ones who ended up seriously sick. Food poisoning, without a doubt: fever, diarrhea, stomach cramps, muscle aches. It completely ruined our night and the days after. After medical tests it turned out we got Salmonella from their food.

This is outrageous. Serving contaminated food is not just unprofessional, it’s dangerous. If a kitchen can’t even ensure basic food safety, they don’t deserve to be in business. If a dish can make you this sick, what does that say about their hygiene standards in the kitchen? About how they store and prepare other meals? It’s shocking, it’s unacceptable, and it’s a massive red flag for anyone considering eating here.

Salmonella doesn’t just “happen” – it’s the result of filthy kitchens, improper storage, and a total disregard for the most basic food safety rules. The fact that this restaurant served us contaminated food proves they are either incompetent or they simply don’t care if their customers get sick. Frankly, this place is dangerous. Serving Salmonella is the kind of thing that should get a restaurant shut down. If they can’t keep bacteria out of their meals, every single dish on that menu is a gamble with your health.

Stay away from this place – I would never recommend it to anyone. This restaurant should be...

I visited this restaurant today with my wife, and unfortunately, the service left us very disappointed.

When we entered, we were seated by a waiter. I had a bottle of water with me, as we had been walking outside in the hot weather and didn’t want to waste it. I politely asked if it was okay to keep it with us. I fully understand if the policy is that outside drinks are not allowed, but instead of explaining this politely, the waiter was very rude and told me to put the bottle on the floor while we ate. I found this both unprofessional and unhygienic. A simple explanation or an offer of tap water would have been the respectful approach.

The food itself was also very average for the price. My tuna salad was dry with no proper dressing, and my wife’s rabbit dish was plain and uninspiring.

I asked if I could speak to a manager, but was told there wasn’t one available. The waiter then added that if I didn’t follow his instructions, the manager would have come and told us to leave, which only made us feel even less welcome.

Overall, the issue was not the policy, but the way it was handled. Staff should treat customers with courtesy and professionalism. Sadly, because of this poor service and underwhelming food, I would not return or recommend...

The service here is very nice, but unfortunately I can not recommend this restaurant for dinner - the food is not good. We ordered the rabbit and ribs, which were both very dry and almost inedible. My friend ordered the "local ravioli" which appeared to be pre-packages and was cold. The portions are unbalanced (the linguini with local sausage was a whole package of pasta). We also ordered two different bottles of wine, both of which were not good and were warm (I think they may have been improperly stored). The only dish that was good was the complimentary appetizer - toasted bread with a spicy spread, tuna, and cheese.

The vibe of the restaurant is also a little off-putting - I believe it's a sports bar most of the time. The owner who served us was very sweet, and knowledgeable about Malta. I know they are working hard so I gave two stars, but unfortunately they really need to work on their cooking techniques and the wine.

I'm surprised at the large number of positive reviews (which is why we came here), but upon reading them in more detail it does seem that they are focused on the service and not the food. Overall, I recommend going elsewhere if you are looking for a nice spot for a...

Ate here for my last meal in Malta before I needed to catch a flight and really wish I had just skipped dinner altogether so I wouldn't have left feeling so disappointed. I ordered the fried rabbit after seeing it recommended in reviews. You can also order it stewed, but the photos others shared made the other way look crispy and more appealing. The dish I received looked nice but was incredibly underwhelming on all fronts. The skin was not fried or crisp, it was quite soggy on the outside. The breast meat was incredibly dry. I was given a butter knife for eating the duck with and it was basically worthless. The vegetables it came with were dripping with oil and overcooked. The fries were seasoned but you could tell they weren't boiled in salted water because the flavour didn't transfer into the potato at all. They were bland and not crisp. I didn't finish the meal which was rare for me, but it felt harder to force myself to eat a dish that wasn't done well. The restaurant itself was hardly busy so I wouldn't consider this a situation where they were rushing and messed up. The staff were very kind so I hope if they read this they consider this as honest feedback for a dish that could be really good.

The restaurant was completely empty during our visit. They use bag sauces which for me does not look very good as I would expect to use homed sauces in restaurant. Mochito was very weak it was more like lemoned and basically it had nothing to do with mochito. The main dish paella shouldn't even be called that in my opinion it was more of a risotto with chicken which was good but not what I expected from paella. The order otherwise went smoothly and the service was friendly.

I ate the traditional Maltese rabbit. It was very delicious. But the rabbit with the side dishes was served on a very small plate. I could eat it almost in caveman style. I also ordered a bottle of white wine from the wine card, but they did not have it. I got some printed out pages which wines are available. That I chose it was great, but the waiter almost couldn’t not open it however he had professional wine opener.
