Welcome was nice. the waiter replied to all my questions and adapted to my requests. I have been at this restaurant several times mainly for mocktails. Today I decided to have a meal. Unfortunately, before being served, something unusual happened which spoiled my appetite. There was a client with a dog and the dog was seated on a chair with the rear of the dog completely on the chair. I find that not hygienic at all. The client just wiped the chair with paper before leaving. While the client was leaving the dog shook its body and there was a lot of dust and hair released in the air and it went to other tables. I was afraid something would get into my drink. I tried to ignore that but the dog shook again and released all sorts of things in the air and that made me feel disgusted. How can such things happen in a restaurant with no attention from those in charge? Why do dog owners think they have the privilege to step on the quality of life of others? I think restaurant owners should take a position against that.
Anyway, I had arancini with squid ink and cuttlefish which was served warm. I liked it. I ordered a lamb burger as well but it was barely warmish. I did not like the seasoning of the burger. Tasted like a spicy sausage. It seemed to me the burger took a lot of time to be served once it was ready. I had a virgin colada drink. It tasted too artificial. I would give three stars but the dog scene forces me to...
Read moreGiorgio’s Giorgio’s in Sliema is a local favorite. Offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, cocktails, wine, and beer, you can say, with certainty, something for everyone. On our last visit, we had a fabulous breakfast. I opted for the perfectly cooked eggs Benedict. The creamy Hollandaise sauce over the exactingly cooked eggs was spot-on. Giorgio’s has its own twist on this classic dish, serving it on streaky bacon on top of a brioche bun. Delicious! My partner chose the enormous English Breakfast. This breakfast consists of two eggs, sunny side up, four rashers of streaky bacon, four-link sausage, two grilled tomatoes, roasted mushrooms, four hash brown triangles, black pudding, baked beans, and toast. Good grief! I helped. We topped the breakfast with a couple of freshly squeezed bellinis, and we were satisfied until dinner. Giorgio’s offers wraps, burgers, jumbo sandwiches, and more for lunch. The dinner menu is extensive. Menu items range from generous salads and starters to pasta, poke bowls, chicken, beef, and lamb burgers to rabbit, steak, and seafood. I feel the seafood here is the star. Octopus, mussels, seabass, calamari, and specials are all outstanding. As you can see from the picture, save room for their amazing desserts! Giorgi's has a large pizza menu as well. We found the prices to be fair and reasonable. Giorgio’s is located on the...
Read moreWe ate at Giorgios 3 times during our 5 day stay in Malta. FIRST: Breakfast - nice service great, attentive. So we thought we'd come back and give dinner a try. That was a mistake. SECOND: Dinner - I had a beef tagliatelle. Mushy, not much flavour. Pasta clumped together. My partner had the calamari fritti. It was atrocious, stunk and an insult to every seafood eater out there. Our last day in Malta, we were starving from a long day trip and we thought we'd give Giorgios another try. Big mistake. THIRD: Lunch/Dinner- An inedible steak sandwich, chips instead of the advertised onion rings, a mushy, awful tasting chicken pizza and a warm flat lemonade served. I had to ask for ice to get a cold drink. Service was well, there was none.... the only thing I enjoyed was sitting under the fan as it was so hot. I was asked if I didn't enjoy the food, I told the truth, paid and left. I realise these strip restaurants are a tourist trap, but at least give us nice food, no matter if we're locals or not. We all still pay for something we wouldn't...
