What a let down! Walking the malecon looking for a place to spend new years eve with my wife and daughter we were sold on the look of the place and the fixed menu. Yes the place is impressive to look at and it looks and feels like a typycal South Beach Miami restaurant. But that is all. The service was not good at all and the food was awful. We paid for a reservation for 3 for New Years eve. When we got there they has set up a tiny table for 2 on a corner with a wooden step stool for my daughter to sit on. After getting a second table added and what looked like lawn furniture for my kid to sit on. It only got worst from there. The coke was flat for the drinks we ordered. We arrived at 830 and didn't get out first course until 930. Each course came almost an hour apart. It was 5 minutes to midnight and we hadnt got our dinner yet!!! I asked the waiter if we were going to get our food this year. 2 minutes to midnight they brought out 2 sad looking steaks. Could not make the cut. It was fixed menu but nobody asked for temperature on the steaks. My wife got a chared piece of meat that looked and tasted like a flip flop. I got a raw piece of meat that looked like they cooked it with a hair dryer. Both came out same time and were completely awful. They were both cold and by the time 2021 came we had lost our appetite. What a way to close out horrible 2020 with the worst meal of the year. DO NOT...
Read moreHere's an honest review, I feel bad for the owner. Drinks are great, waiters are nice, heck even the music is good. But they screw you over. If you're a foreigner, they try to set you up. (They tried to slip a phone in my pocket and get me to go to jail if I didn't pay, Cops looking for a chance to screw you over.) And I would've overlooked this as a bad encounter. However, then I was charged over 400$ on less than 5 drinks. Again, I feel bad for the owner. I probably had no idea these setups are going on. Nonetheless, my brother and I will never be coming back, and I'm bringing my family back and definitely not taking them here, I'll show them Los Baja Crudas and explain to them that they're just trying to take advantage of you having a good time. Sorry for the bad review. I hope the owner gets his crew straight because overall, it seems like...
Read moreWe first visited Cornelio Cantina 1 month ago as part of group gathering. We were concerned that something was wrong with it as there are normally few customers. We were pleased with the wonderful service provided by Martin and the quality of the food. This is a comfortable establishment with great people and the food is very good. The only complaint about the food would be that it is mostly serviced as bar food. The meals are not complete with rice or potatoes. The prices are comparable to others on the Malecon. I have yet to try their breakfast but have heard wonderful things about it. Give Cornelio a try on your next visit to the La Paz Malecon you could find your new...
