We stopped by this morning to have some breakfast and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was busy but there were still a few tables available for us to be seated almost immediately. I ordered the breakfast special of the day which was the Desayuno Zacatecano which consisted of your choice of protein (chicken breast, steak and I forgot the other choice) along with roasted cactus (nopal asado) a side of beans (frijoles charros) and chilaquiles with crema and queso en salsa verde (a dish made of fried chopped tortillas in green salsa with cheese and cream). Along with this I ordered a cafe de olla (coffee made in a pot with cinnamon and piloncillo - a type of unrefined sugar) with a dash of milk. If you like coffee I highly recommend you try this very delicious and traditional form of Cafe. I also tried a fresh cold glass of agua fresca de melon (a refreshing cool cantaloupe drink). Along with the meal we received a complimentary side of chips, salsa refried beans and pork rinds to snack on before the breakfast arrived. I enjoyed this so much that I will make it a regular stop whenever I visit Tijuana early in the morning.

I rarely give a 5 star. But by far this place deserves it. To begin the cafe de olla is great. It was served hot and they continue to offer it throughout your stay. I came with my husband and brother in law and son so we ordered three plates. I don’t eat borrego, but I tasted my brother in laws and it was amazing. Soft and flavorful with garbanzo beans it was just great. I ordered huevos a la mexicana and they came with a side of chilaquiles, chicharrón con salsa, cocido de papas, and frijoles. My husbands order came with the same sides and he ordered an omelette. The Borrego came with rice and beans and they were delicious. My son order a child’s meal they had a variety of dishes for children and I love to see that. The food was great, well cooked and it tasted like actual Mexican food and not like other place that portray to be Mexican but aren’t. Completely satisfied with their authentic flavors. Sorry I didn’t get to take more pictures we just dove right in. 😆 I added a picture of the receipt because the price was beyond reasonable!

Inexpensive, lots of options, gets crowded at times. The servings are large and look appetizing. Must return to try other items as well. Must warn you about the bread on the table, regardless of what it seems, you eat it, you buy it! As a beverage, I wrongfully ordered an oatmeal that came with option of large bread or toast. I was never asked to decide for myself so I grabbed a bread from the basket on my table. After the beverages were served(including the oatmeal), I was later served with 2 slices of toast. When asking for the check, I was getting charged for the bread. Long story short, server said I should have returned the slices if I wanted the bread as part of the oatmeal-bread combo.
