Pancake Place — Restaurant in Baja California

Excellent restaurant for breakfast in TJ! Puts places like Dennys or IHOP to shame by comparison. Their version of the Grand slam comes with 2 huge pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and ham and will fill you up fast. Crispy, meaty, bacon which I love and the pancakes have a little bit of a corn bread flavor which is a nice twist too. Oh, and the orange juice is fresh squeezed, not from concentrate. We had breakfast two days in this place. The staff? Amazing, very attentive and friendly. They all are aware of what you may need and offer refills and or help. The food. So very good. The plate of fruit had the most amazing and sweet papaya and Pinaple I ever tasted. The crepes has nothing to envy those ones made in Montreal. The omelettes are the highlight for me! I paid 150 pesos, about 8 dollars, for a waffle, 1 egg and 3 small pork sausages and a coffee. I was totally unimpressed with the waffle, very dense batter and heavy tasting. The egg was nothing special and the sausages were just breakfast links. The coffee was hot and tasty. I left a 2 dollar tip for the mesero, service was good but the food was a little disappointing. I doubt I'll be back here. I get more for half the price at La Chuleta, near where I live, so I'm going back there for my breakfast...
