I visited this place multiple times, since I liked their food a lot. But it is a mixed bag of feelings : they combine the best tuna in the area with the worst octopus.
At first, you're greeted with a set of stairs to the next second floor, so if you have a stroller - good luck (we had two). Inside is a nicely decorated area stretched across the building - you can pick up a table with a view at the marina or at the road.
As for the food, chefs definitely know how to prepare tuna and other fish, they are simply excellent. The fish is fresh and is marinated to a subtle perfection. Cocktails are good as well, and this is the only restaurant in the area which has Mexican craft beers. Unfortunately, their octopus is pretty bad - tasteless and very rubbery. Since we're on a quest to find the best octopus, it was a disappointment.
The service is much better than in other places, waiters clean your table the minute you finish your dish. Not everyone speaks English, but we communicated without issues.
Overall, I recommend to give this place a try. Just skip their octopus-based dishes, including the signature (aka most...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for years and have always found it to be a reliable spot. On my most recent visit, I ordered two tostadas: the Lacanjá and the Octopus. Unfortunately, this experience didn’t live up to my usual expectations.
The Lacanjá tostada tasted fine, but the server mentioned it would be spicy due to the Serrano peppers. However, there was no noticeable heat—no spice at all, which was a letdown considering the description.
The Octopus tostada was the real disappointment. It was extremely rubbery—honestly inedible. It had the texture of a tire, which made it impossible to enjoy.
On the bright side, the service was excellent. The staff removed the uneaten tostada from the check without any issue and even offered to replace it. I appreciated that, though I declined a replacement as I didn’t want to take another risk. After the fact, I noticed another review also mentioning the poor quality of the octopus, so I’d strongly recommend avoiding it here.
Overall, while the service remains top-notch, the food this time—especially the octopus—was a miss. Hopefully, it was...
Read moreAbsolutely recommend! I wish we had found this place earlier, because we would’ve visited more! We first visited for drinks, which was absolutely amazing! I got the pomelita - which was delicious. Then, we came back the next day and got lunch. The staff remembered us actually, and Derrick was the most helpful person! Gave multiple excellent recommendations (such as the different water refreshers - which is an absolute must have! They are so refreshing!) that ended up being absolutely delicious. I ordered the Mezcal pasta which was absolutely delicious, perfectly al dente and the salmon and shrimp were perfectly cooked. My friend’s tuna dish was recommended to us and it was absolutely amazing and cooked so well. She doesn’t even normally like tuna but loved the dish. You also get free chips and salsa as you wait for your food (which comes out very fast)! Just an absolutely amazing experience and an amazing view as you eat.
The restaurant is also decorated very cutely and Derrick even helped us take photos for us. So, great atmosphere, great...
