This is an average review amongst multiple positive ones, which I find difficult to believe were written by actual guests or about the same place.||The hotel is situated quite far away from the hotel district and amenities of Cancoon. || I shall start with the positives. On arrival, we were given room 360 with ocean views. The room was small but well equipped. There were coffee making facilities, a free safe (although not bolted down), a mini fridge (which was replenished daily with water and soft drinks), very efficient air-conditioning and a large bed, a huge television ( you can mirror netflix to it) and a spacious walk in shower (although the grouting could do with attention). The room could do with more clothing storage as this was lacking, but it was cleaned daily to a very good standard. However, we found the patio door very stiff to open, and I managed to fall down the split level step in the night because the step light was not illuminating. On reporting these issues to the reception they were dealt with within the hour. |The buffet area was also air conditioned. On entering the room, we noticed an unpleasant smell, which was also noted by other guests. There were numerous tables, but at peak times, it became very busy. On some occasions, the slow turnaround of clearing tables created queues to be seated. |As for the hot food, we found it to be luke warm at best and the main parts of the buffet repetitive. |Yes, the outdoor pool and gardens were clean and generally well maintained ( once at 11.45 pm!) . There were plenty on sunbeds and brollies with no mad rush for them and free towels provided daily. Drinks were available from 11am, and the waiters worked their socks off to keep you replenished. The snack bar provided hot dogs and burgers, but it was a shame there were no more options available. |Our only real issues with the pool area were the slippy surfaces, which led to a couple of falls, and the volume level of the music and activities. The noise made you unable to talk to the person next to you at times and led to a far from relaxed atmosphere. |The beach looks beautiful on the website. However, in reality, it is a little different. The beach was cleaned daily off seaweed, but the area you could actually access to swim in was limited due to the inefficient seaweed barrier. Linking the pool area to the main reception area, there are numerous unnecessary steps highlighted with hazard tape running parallel with safer ramps. We witnessed two falls, both up and down the steps. |The other lounge bar doesn't open until 12.30pm (in conjunction with lunch) and with ceiling fans providing giving limited relief from the excessive heat. In the evenings, there was entertainment, which generally finished at 10pm (this was sometimes a relief) with the bar, which provided a reasonable array of drinks, including cocktails (albeit they were low quality unless you pay to upgrade) closing at 11pm. |Our major concern with this hotel and the reason for not giving it a 4 was that out of 2 couples, 3 off us were quiet poorly on numerous immodium relieved occasions throughout our 2 week stay. We have no idea what was causing the issues, but we were only ill after eating the luke warm food and drinking from the inadequately cleaned plastic cups in the hotel. This illness really marred our holiday as we were unable to enjoy the benefits of an all-inclusive as we had to be in close proximity to a toilet living off soup, bread, and bottled water at the end.|Would we return to Mexico, possibly, would we return to this hotel?...
Read moreHotel: This is a smaller resort and much less crowded than most other Cancun resorts we've been to. They have activities each night, but they are not advertised well. For instance, one night was karaoke night, but you wouldn't know it was in the back of the hotel unless you asked. The hotel is not very well taken care of either. Only the front area looks presentable, all other areas looked beat up and looked to be maintained by amateurs. The ping pong paddles had little to no padding on them. The bay area is perfect for small children as the water is fairly clear and the water does not get more than 2-3 feet deep. There are no waves and the area is very small. There were only 9 umbrellas available and around 20 lounge chairs.
Rooms: We booked the Junior Suite and had 5 people in our party. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Two rooms had a king bed with their own bathroom and shower and the 3rd room had 2 double beds and the 3rd bathroom and shower was next to the common dining area. There was a coffee pot, but no coffee was ever supplied. The room numbers do not correlate to the floors and the setup for them is very confusing. Also, the elevator stops on one level and you still have to climb 6 stairs to get to the actual walkway where the rooms are. The upkeep of the walls and tiles looked like an amateur worked on them and towel holders were about to fall off the wall. Also, two of our three toilets were slowly running every 2-3 minutes just wasting water.
Food: We showed up around 8pm. Luckily, the buffet restaurant was still open. However, the food was of very poor quality and they only had Sprite or water available to drink. Each day the food was edible, but was not of good quality. Even the specialty restaurants food was very low quality.
Restaurants: Their website is deceiving when discussing restaurants. There are only 3 restaurants and only 2 are available for dinner. The El Faison is the buffet restaurant. There were several options for food, but it was all very moderate tasting food. The listed "Trattoria" Italian restaurant doesn't exist as the "Pina Colada" restaurant was just made into an italian restaurant on one of the nights. The Sushi Bay restaurant is also not really an actual restaurant, but only a lunchtime outdoor patio restaurant serving Sushi. Also, on Sundays the menu for the Pina Colada restaurant is limited to burgers, hot dogs, and fries. This restaurant is very small and had a huge line to get food on most days.
Service: The reception staff did not really explain much upon our arrival, but only handed us the food and activities paper and told us the wifi password. The setup of the paper was very confusing and you couldn't tell which foods were in which restaurant. When we needed something for the room, we had to ask twice to get it. The staff in the restaurants could not keep up with the demand. In the El Faison buffet restaurant, we had to wait for tables on some meals and had to always wait for glasses or cups for drinks and they rarely had spoons available. There were only 2 juices available and all other drinks had to be ordered from the wait staff, if they even came to your table after getting your food. The person cooking the omelettes used their hands to scoop egg shells out of cracked eggs and also seasoned with their hands, which some deemed unsanitary. This restaurant was also too small for the demand of people even though it was a...
Read moreI am not sure where to begin if I could give negative stars. This place would be a negative 3. I'm just gonna say that if I could give this place a fair review would be. It's just about the Mose blend. Resort, I have been in food is very blend every night. They have different. Nights for food diversity, but I just wanna say the only thing that changes are 3 trays. Everything else is the same cookie cutter. Silent. The surge they never change one of the most blends food. I have ever tasted it. No Mexican food, here you gotta go out of your way to get some real Mexican food. The rooms are different, very basic, the most minimum Rooms that I have ever been in. You get a bed t. V. And address her, that's it. Nothing too fancy. The refrigerator has soda's water, few juices. No beers it's a hotel policy. It doesn't whether you think you're on vacation or not. You get no beers. They serve alcohol until about 12 noon. If you wanna get a beer, you need to go outside to one of the small retailers, and then you have to bring it into your room. I'm just gonna say that my nightstand has more snacks. Then this hotel did. Bets were not comfortable at all. Neither were the pillows. Those things felt like a brick. If this tells you anything, my 11-year-old daughter told me that my 8-year-old son slept on the floor because he thought the floor was more softer than the bed. Don't get me wrong. I checked on the kids every night, but apparently, the little monkey. Wanted to sleep on the floor after I checked on them, and what can I do with that? He's on vacation, so yeah. The beach was okay. Honestly, it's more of a 2 little punch that they dug up next to the beach, which creates a small Little Beach area, but no waves here. If this place has anything going is that? It's right next to all the docking for the boats. And you can get a quick tour to Isla de mujeres, which was great. We just have to walk out and walk back to the hotel. Other than that, everything else was as basic as it gets. I would probably not return here. Or I should say, I would not return here for 3 days, not even if that hotel management or the owner reached out to me and said I'm gonna give you 3 nights or a week for free. I would say thank you. Give it to the next person in line. I will take a pass and sip on my beer. Enjoy my nights then. With all the snacks that I have, because that's how I wanna feel when I'm on vacation. I don't like to be restricted on my drinking or anything like that. Because I am on vacation and I paid for everything out-of-pocket. Anyways, honestly, I don't recommend this place like I said, I was here for a week in a week. Is enough time to know whether or not you could really recommend a place or a resort or hotel? Or anything like that to anyone else? Some people I heard enjoyed it and everything but keep in mind. They might have been locals if you're coming from outside the country. You would be expecting a little bit more when you're on vacation. If you're reading this review still and you have come to this place and you enjoyed it A. I'm happy for you. I truly am. Sadly, I'm not in the same boat that you wearing, but Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you. Give a thumbs up if you agree with me. If not enjoy it and drink one for me, but you gotta go to the. Corner store get a...
