Alexander's — Restaurant in City Centre

Visited Cabo for my birthday. While most places\people were friendly and honest, Alexander’s was not. Let’s get into it……. We were a party of 4. We went to Alexander’s for dinner one night as another family had recommended it. First I’ll start by saying the food was not good as the family had stated. We are good ole’ southerners who believe in cooking with love and seasoning. However, given that we are in a different country on vacation, I did not expect southern food, nor did I make a big fuss about it. Secondly, There were locals canvassing the restaurant, playing music on their instruments. Well we watched as they approached every single table (predominately Caucasian or Latin) in the restaurant, except ours. None of the guest from the previous tables indulged in their invite. Finally after they visited ALL the tables, then they came to us, the Black party. Of course, we received the offer, they played and sang me birthday song, and we tipped them, $20USD. Third, I noticed the waiter twice, whispering and pointing at us, while talking to another employee. The second time it was so obvious that the other employee warned the waiter that I was watching and they immediately turned their backs, then pretended to be working. And to top it off….. By the end of the dinner, my three friends had already received and paid their tabs. My male companion paid a straight tab, no added gratuity. The two females had a tab with a 15% added gratuity. However, when we did the conversion, there was actually a 20% gratuity added to their tabs. The waiter stated that there is an included 15% gratuity. Again, they did not charge my male friend. And when we informed him that the gratuity that was taken out was 20%; he was baffled. We eventually got the manager involved and he refunded my friend’s their money. The waiter never came back to the table, never even looked our way again, no apology or anything.

Please please please be careful in Cabo. They will nickel and dime you to death if you are not careful. This is not the first place that we caught cheating us out of our money, but this by far...

I recently had an awful experience with this restaurant and the man who stands out front attempting to hand out menus to passersby along the marina. My boyfriend and I were walking along the marina one evening, when the grey haired man started speaking to us as we passed by asking us to come in for dinner, we politely declined and said we had already eaten but thank you anyways. He then proceeded to make a se*ually derogatory comment towards myself and my boyfriend where he said " Oh yeah buddy you look well taken care of" where he continued to follow and walk closely behind us. This entire experience made me feel very intimidated and uncomfortable. I do not understand how a restaurant can keep someone who harasses and incites this bully behavior to potential guests of their restaurant. I felt compelled to write this review and I realized this is not the first time someone has been subject to this mans harassment. It is quite unfortunate that this experience has become a topic of conversation at the recent wedding we attended in Cabo, where we learned of others who also had negative experiences on the marina with this individual as well. Very Unfortunate, I would steer clear of this place...

My wife and I love searching for an authentic Mexican experience when visiting Mexico. The marina is more touristy than expected with every restaurant trying to earn your business. After hearing the pitch from each place, Alexander's won us over. Get a seat on the patio, face the marina and prepare for an amazing meal. Raul convinced us to sit down. He made us feel like a guest and not a quick hustle to come in. He intersected with us multiple times throughout the night which again made us feel like he was genuine in bringing us in to a place he believes in. The food was 10/10 and come hungry. This was fancy with healthy portions. We did 2 steaks (more like the keg steaks and not resort steaks), 2 lobster, shrimp and sides. The ceaser salad (dressing made from scratch in front of you) was the best dressing I have ever had and we will be going back for lunch just because of this.
