La Taquiza Centro — Restaurant in Ildefonso Green

Amazing drinks!! Mine came in a HUGE BOWL w/2 straws, and a glass almost half full with tequila to add in as the shots!! It was SO BIG, they gave me a to-go cup (also pictured and very largewhich I never actually finished).... My husband ordered a strawberry daiquiri, after seeing another drink go by (pictured) bc the drink came out taller than the glass. Muy delicioso!! We only stopped for drinks and a light snack, so we got nachos... but recognized this place as a place recommended by a local we ate at during a previous trip here when they had an all you can eat taco bar (many years ago). They did have some signs on the wall for winning YELP awards, etc., so we knew we were in a great place, plus, locals were eating and drinking there. My drink is listed at the TOP RIGHT of the menu in Spanish, but I didn't catch the name. It was the recommendation if the waitress, so I went with it! I took a pix of the menu to help you find it. It has grapefruit in it and tequila, obviously. Lol...Idk what else was in there but it was fresh fruit, juice, and very good! You might be able to notice by the pictures just how big the serving bowl it came in is by comparing it to the nacho plate, or the salsa serving dish they brought out with the different salsas on it. It was larger than both of those! Needless to say, I needed the nachos to soak up some of it so I could continue on my shopping trip that afternoon and still walk back to our hotel! We will go back! The rest of our party was understandably sad they missed out when they saw the pictures of our amazing drinks and appetizers they missed out on! The rest of the menu looked great too! If we didn't already have dinner plans, we would've gone there that...

Wow, the food at Taquiza is on another level! The al pastor is, without a doubt, the best I have ever had. The cheese crust tacos are a genius creation and an absolute must-try. And the chile rellenos? They were so amazing that we came back a second time just to order them again! You can tell everything is made with high-quality ingredients and incredible care.

I would give them a 4 but I couldn't reduce from a 5 even though the staffing on the floor needed so much help. Our servers were working incredibly hard, literally running from table to table, but it was clear they were completely overwhelmed and handling too many guests at once. It wasn't their fault at all—they remained friendly and did their best—but the restaurant desperately needs to hire more help to support their servers. It led to long waits for drinks and the check.

I am absolutely coming back because the food is just too good to pass up. I'm really hoping management invests in a larger front-of-house team to match the excellence of their kitchen. This place has the potential to be an unbeatable 5-star gem and easily marked 5. Love...

Oh Man ! What a meal. We had the opportunity to visit La Tequila for dinner and were thoroughly impressed by both the food and the service. The tacos were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Each bite was a delight, with a great balance of ingredients that made it hard to pick a favorite! ( Try everything with seafood and thank me later )

What made the experience even better was the exceptional service by Nancy. She was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. Her friendly attitude and prompt service truly enhanced our visit.
