Bito's Restaurant — Restaurant in El Medano Ejidal

We visited Bito’s with a party of seven, but the experience was disappointing from the start. Despite having many tables available, they tried to seat us at a table meant for four. A kind girl (who we suspect was the waiter’s girlfriend or someone he knows?) offered to move so they could put tables together. Due to this, the waiter seemed unhappy from the start. We ordered three pizzas, a pasta, tacos, and a salad for four adults and three kids. Only one pizza, the salad and pasta arrived initially. After waiting 25 minutes, and most of the food consumed, we asked about the other two pizzas as our pregnant friend are still waiting for her pizza. The same waiter, still visibly annoyed, said they were coming and brought out a pizza we didn’t order. It turns out the other pizzas were never made, and we were told it would be another 15 minutes with no apologies. We decided to cancel the two pizzas that were not yet made as it was clear they did not appreciate our business. We left and went down the street to a new place. Throughout the meal, the waiter never explained the delays or offered any updates or apologies. A simple acknowledgement that they goofed goes a long way. An incredible experience! We were a little early for Cabo dinner , 6pm - but the level of service we received was excellent . Maybe because we are gringos or the few people there, but regardless this place was great. I would describe it as Italian Mexicana. In house made fresh pasta is a daily thing. The place has a traditional oven where the bread, chips and pizzas are baked; so, it is all home-made fresh. The owner or chef came and told us the specials and unintentionally guided our choices perfectly. He brought a complimentary appy and gave us promotional pricing, twice?! Considering the menu was already very affordable and the quality of food beyond expectations it was hard to believe how little we paid for such delicious food. Tuesdays the pizza is 2 for 1, that made it a great price. The pizza is cooked in an outdoor oven and was wonderful, with several topping sauces offered too. The place is very clean and the service was great. We went back another night for dinner, BBQ Ribs excellent (but not much with them), and chicken alfredo (rather mundane). UPDATE: My original rating for this place was 5 stars, based on the Pizza and service. Both times we went there I specifically requested the credit card charge be made in pesos - their receipts show both pesos and the typical rip-off exchange rate to US $, but it is hard to determine which they used, so I questioned them and was assured the charge was in pesos. But when I got home and reviewed the bank statement details, I see they stole about $4 US from me each time by charging me their rip-off conversion in US dollars! I am quite unhappy, so I have downgraded that rating to just 3 stars. ...
