Japanese Kaiseki and Sushi Luna by Haru Furuta — Restaurant in El Medano Ejidal

Having been to Japan several times and familiar with traditional sushi, I was skeptical that I’d find anything similar in Cabo. I’m so very pleased to report I was wrong. The quality of the fish was extraordinary, and the attention to detail and genius behind each dish was inspiring. The restaurant is small and minimal in design: a soothing, peaceful contrast to the sometimes overwhelming sights and sounds for which Cabo is famous. The restaurant had only been open a month when we came to dine (and we were the first non-locals to be served), but the Chef and his team worked with a gracefulness and precision that seemed like they’d been open for years. Quite possibly one of the best meals we’ve ever had....

I experienced Sushi Luna with my family and had the most amazing time. I’m pretty sure I said “wow” more times than I ever have in my life. The chefs were incredible, timely, attentive, skilled, and clearly very passionate. I have never been able to have sushi this way before (only Americanized rolls) and now I never want to go back. Our servers were so kind and offered a variety of options when one of our dinner party was feeling ill, which was incredibly kind, as well as detailed places in Cabo worth checking out, and overall being fantastic hosts. I left the building happy-dancing with how good (and truly full) I felt. When I come back to Cabo I will absolutely be dining in with Sushi...

What a delightful omakase experience in Cabo! The chef is a true professional who is elevating the Japanese omakase scene in Cabo.

If you're looking for ramen or California roll, this is not your place! But if you're searching for an authentic omakase experience where the chef is meticulous about the fish sourced, sushi rice he cooks and what side dishes to complement the fish, this is it!!

We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and chatting with the chef. The service from the staff is also very attentive and on par with other omakase experience we've had in Tokyo, Taipei, SF and LA.
