Avoid this place at all costs. To begin with, the food was sub par and cost too much for what it was. We ordered fettuccine Alfredo and what actually came out was some spaghetti with a strange sauce, vegetables and unseasoned chicken cubes. The drinks we ordered were good but extremely small and not worth the price at all. Regardless of the bad food, the service was also awful. We were never asked how the food was or if we wanted anything else. We waited over 30 mins for the food which led us to ask what was happening and we always had to flag them down for anything we needed. When we went to pay we did not leave a tip as we did not feel like the service or food deserved this. The waitress mentioned several times that the tip wasn't included in an effort to make us pay the tip and make us feel uncomfortable. This was the most she interacted with us. After paying we overhead the workers speaking badly about us in Spanish and to their surprise we heard them and understood everything they said about us. They were extremely disrespectful and when we responded to them and explained why we had not left a tip they were very rude and classless towards us. We have had an amazing time on Isla mujeres and have experienced great service at all other places. It's a shame this place drags the reputation of the wonderful island down so please do avoid this restaurant at all costs and put your money to better use elsewhere to people...
Read moreFayne's is open later than most spots on the main strip in Isla Mujeres, which drew us in on the last night of vacation while looking for one last cocktail before going back to real life the next morning. Little did we know that we'd be taken back to real life a little bit quicker than anticipated. The whole trip we had been impressed that even on this main tourist avenue, the quality of drinks, food, and service were far above average compared to similar areas in Mexico. Here fun and kitschy themed bars all carve out their own special slice of this street with their unique personalities. Bar hopping rarely gets better than this 4 blocks of paradise.
This all comes at the cost of paying premium tourist prices of course, but hey, welcome to Isla Mujeres. Fayne's wildly missed the mark in all regards except the price, as these were easily the most expensive cocktails we purchased during our stay on the island. Those drinks however ranged from being painfully average to downright bad, and the personality of its building was quite lifeless and devoid of any true character. We sat and sipped and watched the cruise ship types singing happily along to a cover band, all while our extremely rude server ignored us completely after our initial order. Then we went on our way, content in knowing that Fayne's is probably a favorite spot of many, and they can all...

We were searching along the restaurant row on Isla Mujeres for a place for dinner. We looked at the menu the 1st time... Looked good but my husband wanted to search to see if anything else was available... Eventually we came back. A table for 4 was just leaving and the maitre d was about to seat us when another employee came by and reminded him this was a table for 4... then said there was a reservation for 20.. (no way there was room for 20 here) but that is besides the point. We were brought to another restaurant and assured it was the same... YEA NOPE it was not... WAY more expensive... not the same menu. We ordered 1 margarita and left. I don't mind being told they have no room.. (there were seats at the bar) I really hate being lied to and told it was the same... NOT THE SAME... and not a language mistake either... I speak enough spanish to ask if it was the same in spanish... He assured me it was. Not sure what was going on here... maybe they wanted to save the table for 4... maybe they wanted to direct us to a more expensive restaurant... We could have sat at the bar if asked. Who knows... but don't lie to me... Just tell me the truth... otherwise your reputation...
