We arrived at the beach at around 1pm. Upon arriving at IXI restaurant glanced at the buffet. The selection of food is limited. My opinion of the restaurant is they are more interested on a quick grab of the US dollars than provide a courteous service. When the server asked us for our drink order I asked for Ginger Ale, his response is it is a premium drink not included in the package therefore I have to pay extra. I chose to order sprite. After lunch a 13 year old in my group ordered ice cream his response is it is a premium not included in the package. This time I chose to pay $3US for two scoops. We left the restaurant and headed to the beach where there was very limited sunlounger with a time limit of 90 minutes any thing after $10.00US. We decided to to pay for the bed since it accommodate all of us. The person who is charging for the bed and sunlounger informed us he only take cash. Since my wife was in the washroom I told him he has to wait till she comes to get paid. His response was either pay right now or leave the bed, I refused to comply and paid him once my wife arrived. We had an amazing boat trip across the ocean ruined by greedy and terrible service by IXI restaurant. I hate to give 1 star to any establishment but after what I experienced if I don't, I would be...

If you don't mind splurging a bit, I highly recommend the beach club. I have rented both a lounge chair and the barrel chair. Both times I got great service for someone who was not consuming alcohol. I recommend renting the barrel chair if solo or a couple. Compared to the other beach clubs in the area, you get more bang for your dollar. I went to some other clubs on Playa Centro and was told to pay $400 pesos for a lounge chair and umbrella (that did NOT include a food credit). I paid $500 for a large, comfortable barrel chair with umbrella and a large wooden bench for eating on. It was right on the shore line. They can get busy, and they run around to do service, so it's not like they are just standing there ignoring you. I'm addicted to the shrimp nacho's, so very tasty. This part of the beach is a little bit wavier depending on the winds, but just as gorgeous and more that satisfying for swimming. I'm here for many months at a time and I will be a regular customer. PS: On my second visit, the waiter not only remembered me, he also remembered what I ordered. Great...

We booked a golf cart online for the day, and the booking included access to this beach club. We ended up arriving around 11:30am and paid 500 pesos extra for the circular lounge chair. The umbrellas actually covered the entire chair (unlike other resorts we have been to) and they were right on the beach which was so nice. Renee was our waitress and she was INCREDIBLE. Checked on us every 15 minutes and made sure we had everything we needed. The beach is so beautiful and the water calm enough for our toddler to play in. There was golf cart parking across the street for 100 pesos for the day which made it very easy. So many vendors came by selling everything from bags to necklaces to paletas and fresh fruit. We ordered the tacos and guac from IXI and the tacos were some of the best...
