I believe we've found our new favorite breakfast spot in Puerto Vallarta. ATMOSPHERE: Besides the good food, a huge selling point of Coco's is its tropical courtyard setting. Numerous mature trees naturally shade the entire area of low tops and a bar. Amazingly, there wasn't an issue of birds or their droppings. Indoor seats are available too. BREAKFAST & LUNCH MENU: Breakfast 8am - 2pm, lunch 12pm - 4pm. Breakfast selections, salads, soups, apps, sandwiches, Mexican Cuisine. They're open for dinner but I didn't see the menu. FOOD: Americano Omelette This omelette is filled with ham, mushrooms and cheese but I nixed the onions. Yum is all I can say. It wasn't stated on the menu but hash browns and toast came with it. Chilaquiles My spouse has been on a roll with this dish after seeing me eat it at Freddy's Tucan restaurant. He added shredded chicken and eggs and actually liked it better than Freddy's version as the red sauce was tastier. Pancakes A half order is the smallest size available, yielding two pieces. The batter was buttery with a crisp exterior and moist insides. SERVICE: We were greeted and seated quickly as they weren't too crazy busy. Our male server was friendly and efficient. Food delivery took about 15 minutes or so. We received thank you's on the way out. OVERALL: Loved the vibe, loved the food. Definitely a return!

I arrived on a Sunday more or less brunch time. My first time in Puerto Vallarta, when I walked by, downstairs from the hotel what attracted me was the whole display... patio surrounded by trees, little tables, intimate music. Quiet, private... I went in solo. And I realized it is a romantic place but perfect for solo dining. I ordered brunch the first time. Delicious tocino eggs Benedict with frijoles...cucumber margarita. I loved my food. On my second visit I walked all over the malecon up to the mirador.... and when I got back to the hotel I couldn't think of a better place The massive tree outside, the breeze. It was a great place to catch your breath. I ordered a green juice and the fish tacos... filling delecious...FRESH. I didn't get a third visit before leaving but I can see myself coming back and going back. Great experience

We may have gone on a bad day or just plain sat with the wrong server. My wife advised she has Celiac disease and showed him the details of her gluten issue right from the start, in Spanish. He didn't say a word, pointed to one thing in the menu and only looked at her as she asked questions. He then responded to my order with good and proper English, still no personality worth mentioning. My wife's order came out with toast on it so we sent it back and canceled her order all together, knowing we couldn't trust their process. Instead of apologizing, our server tried to insist that she re-order. The only reason I give this place 2 stars was my food was good and the people assisting our server were on point, ambiance was nice, and it was an overall nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, I don't recommend not will I go back.

Ok, it might be a stretch to say the absolute best burrito in Puerto Vallarta is at Coco’s Kitchen. For a few reasons. I’ve only been to Puerto Vallarta once and I haven’t tried all the burritos in town. What I do know is the burrito I had at Coco’s was pretty damn good and easily one of the best I’ve had in my life, period. This stomach’s seen a lot of burritos in its lifetime and knows what’s good and what isn’t.

I might be in love with the story of how I found Coco’s just as much as the burrito. During one of the days I was visiting PV, I wandered through downtown and walked El Malecón boardwalk. I eventually needed to put some food in my stomach and drinking street coconuts definitely wasn’t cutting it. I eventually turned down a random street that offered an abundance of shade, naturally I walked that way to escape the sun. I could see this wooden sign down the way that read Coco’s Kitchen and found myself immediately curious. The open air seating, cool colors, art and relaxing atmosphere made Coco’s an easy sell.

After being seated and shortly browsing the menu, I knew right away what I wanted. I started off with a glass of green juice. If you know me personally, you know I’m big into juicing at home and whenever I get the chance to order fresh juice at a restaurant or juice bar, I’m all about it. Refreshing and delicious. This green juice included pineapple, cactus, parsley, celery and spinach. A combination I haven’t had before and started making at home because it was so good!

My heart was set on the burro rojo. Shredded beef, rice, beans, drenched in red sauce, cheese and sour cream. Before I ordered, I asked the waiter for recommendations and he confirmed my choice. It was a match! While I was waiting for this burrito of epic proportions to arrive, I scoped out the restaurant. Centrally located there’s a bar with seating, comfy couches to lounge on, plants and trees. It was a very cool, jungle-like atmosphere that still provided the enclosed, clean expectations of a restaurant. Coco’s wasn’t super busy but there was definitely a consistent crowd people while I was there. I did overhear some conversation and from what I could put together, this is a spot that travelers often visit.

After not too long the burrito had arrived. The presentation was on point. I didn’t even want to eat it because of how amazing it looked. They didn’t skimp on the red sauce either, which was out of this world. A nice balance of bright flavors while providing a deep smokiness that blended perfectly with the sour creme and fixings. The shredded beef was juicy, tender and beautifully flavored. It was definitely enough food for two people to share but I couldn’t keep myself from eating the entire thing. It was that good and it took every ounce out of me to not order one to go.

Between the delicious food, great customer service, atmosphere of the restaurant, this was my favorite place I ate at during my stay. After leaving the restaurant, I found Coco’s on Google Maps and read through the reviews. While there were a lot of raving reviews in general, there were a lot of recommendations to go there for dinner. I didn’t get the chance to do that during my stay but that will definitely be a must next time I find myself in PV. In the short time I was there, Coco’s made a new life-long customer and I will recommend this place highly to anyone I talk to traveling to the area! Thank you for a great experience, Coco’s! See you again next year...

So, heard many good things about Coco’s kitchen. The restaurants was quite busy when we arrived. We waited in line for about 10 minutes before being seated. We were seated at the table next to where they make coffee. This table appeared not to be assigned to any specific waitstaff. Our server was Santiago (that was the name on the tips can he was putting his tips into).

We had our drinks order taken, but no one returned with anything for just under ten minutes. We could see that our waiter was very busy serving their regular section of tables. We placed our food order when we finally were served our drinks. We could that other customers, who arrived after us, were receiving their drinks and having their orders taken well before us. I completely believe this is due to the table we were sitting at.

When we received our food, it was hot and looked appealing. However, the Pecan Waffle was overcooked, tasted burnt and bland. The Chili Rellanos omelet was flavourless. Though the cornbread was delicious. The Almond French Toast was delicious and exactly like all of the positive reviews we had heard.

We chose not to say anything, as it had already taken a very long time to get drinks and out food without any refills available. It then took us getting the attention of other staff to get our check. However, our server was quite busy and we were not in their regular service area. So, we had to get up and go to the bar where the checks were being kept. Another waitstaff got our waiter’s attention and they got...
