Shhh...this is our Locals "go to" place. Very good food, service and prices are reasonable considering the oceanfront view. Paula, Marty, Cesar and Armando make a great team. The area is sectioned off so that one is not constantly disturbed by the many, many vendors (understandably trying to make an honest living but still can be disturbing). There are two options for seating: Beachfront or on a raised area, under a palapa with fans. Good wifi. I use The Red Onion as my home base and office. Dogs are welcomed as long as kept on leash. I almost don't want to share our Best Kept Secret but I have too much respect and appreciation for the existence of La Cebolla Roja and the owners are worthy of such well deserved...

I had a beer with a tostada of Marlin and a Shrimp tostada. The marlin tasted like supermarket fish and the shrimp was okay.

There is no thinking outside the box by both the waiters and the cooks of this restaurant. What you see in the menu is all there is and they won’t mix plates regardless if you’re willing to pay extra. Personally, the flavor was bland also.

The restaurant offers wifi but the signal is unstable and sketchy at times. I did get better internet on my flight into PV than at this restaurant.

The prices are reasonable so no complaint there. The location was great and right in front...

Stopped in for a bite after surf lessons. Got guacamole, salsa and chips, and a vegetarian pizza. Honestly the food isn’t very good. Guacamole isn’t freshly made, salsa is just mostly tomato chopped up. The flavors are very bland, would not recommend the pizza. All in all very blah food. Right on the beach. The vibe was a bit strange here. Many older ex pats seem to hang out here. Possibly even regulars. A lot of pet dogs running around the restaurant from patrons. All in all would likely recommend to just try another beach bar...

We really loved this place! Great deal on buckets of beer (served in a little cooler with crushed ice) The Shrimp Burger was awesome as well as the Shrimp Quesadillas. They had quick service, good music (not too loud) great food and the views can't be beat! You really should give this place a try.

Stopped here to rest our feet & have an afternoon snack after a long morning downtown. We had the shrimp nachos & honestly I could have eaten two of those - they were so good! Got some smoothies & refrescos for the kiddos. Nice spot to watch the big waves crash & get out of the heat.
