Wow. I’ve never had such a bad experience in my life. I’ve traveled in Mexico for 6 months and always had amazing experiences at food places. The second I walked in to ask where to sit or to order, the waiter was already annoyed at me and told me to sit down outside. He spoke in a rude tone but I just assumed he was having a bad day and didn’t let it affect me. When he came to take my order, he was again speaking in an impatient tone and annoyed. Every time I asked him to repeat things as I didn’t hear through the mask, he would get even more irritated in his tone. I asked that there shouldn’t be cheese in my food as I am allergic to dairy. When he brought the food out, I saw there was a dairy cheese sauce on it and I told him I’m allergic to it I can’t have it I’m so sorry. He flipped out and said you didn’t say no cream, you only said cheese. I said I’m sorry, I didn’t hear properly. He then picked up my plate and said “you can’t order from us anymore please leave. It’s because you are American and you think you can get good service.” He kept yelling at me and told me to get up and leave. I was SHOCKED. This never happened to me. I literally didn’t do anything wrong and he started going off on how Americans are disgusting etc... I left and said “clearly you are in a bad mood...” and he just kept going off. Really disappointed in this place and that...

Dog Friendly! Located just a couple of blocks from the Church of Guadalupe this hidden gem sits under umbrellas in an colorful alley. The portions here are amazing, like massive. The food is full of flavor. I know, its hard to believe in a tourist area, but prices are good, especially with the portions. They do know the portions are large, cause they have share fee...Just pay the share fee if you're not looking for a massive meal all to yourself. We had to Tordas with Pollo and Jugo Verde. Both were really good. The Jugo was not as sweet as some places, but very thick, so had to get some water to thin it out. If you are by the Church, or need a good slightly off the malecon...

Great outdoor area. Unfortunately, when we walked into the restaurant the server just stared and never acknowledge us. I even said hey to him and he never spoke a word. We went to a table and when he walked up to the table he never said anything and just continued to just stare at the two of us. He only came back to the table twice, to bring the drinks and the food. We sat for 20 minutes after finishing our meal while he continued to ignore our table and converse with another table. We left the money on the table and started to walk away since there was no interaction from the server and he finally came back to the table. Terrible service but...

Javier has created an oasis in the busy city. Dine in a quiet area off the streets at tables beneath a sky of umbrellas. We have had lunch here many times and have tried many menu items. Start with a wonderful Sangria with hibiscus and peanuts, and then satisfy your appetite with a salad (the Sweet Salad is great, with apple slices, cheese and nuts), quesadillas, burritos and more. On our most recent visit, our meal for two: two Sangrias, two salads ( one with chicken an extra 10 pesos. The restaurant is non-licensed and there are also two small tables inside in addition to the 9 or so outside. This is well worth a detour off the Malecón.
