I usually love Mangoes. I live in PV and come now and then with my friends as we all live in the area.
Last Saturday Oct 15th we reserved a table and all had lunch (big table by the bar and we had our 3 dogs with)
Myself and my one friend ate the same (fish tacos) Within 20mins I felt sick after eating and asked the same friend to drive me home. We left. By the time she dropped me off at home I was violently ill.
She called me 10mins after dropping me off and said she did not make it home and needed an emergency stop and got very sick and was now stuck in a public restroom.
No one else at our table got sick...just her and I who ate fish tacos within 15mins of eachother.
I called to notify the staff and they were quite dismissive.
First I was told they had no complaints. I said I was the one complaining and was very sick and to check the fish.
They said that was kind of me to let them know and hung up. Weird. We had a reserved table. I'd expected they'd of least asked my name or offered the manager to follow up. I got so sick I ended up dehydrated and needing an IV I was vomiting so much. My friend was in bed very sick as well and unable to leave the house and missed an event that night.
Normally I enjoy Mangoes but food poisoning is pretty serious and their response to my attempt to call and notify them was dismissive at best and offensive at worst to be treated that was as a local and a regular. I'm going to assume it was presumed I was some tourist that would never be seen again and my experience didnt matter..
Note to management : in a instance like that where food poisoning is being reported have your staff take the guests phone number and...
Read moreABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! Went here with a large group of family (16 people). Our group consisted of ages 8-75. We wanted to sit on the beach, lay in the sun, lay in the shade, play in the ocean, lounge/relax, have some drinks and eat....you know.... everything people from Nebraska want to do in Puerto Vallarta in February when it's -20 degrees at home with 2 feet of snow!!!!!
As soon as we got there, Reuben immediately acknowledged us. He and other staff started pulling tables, chairs, beach/lounge chairs, side tables and umbrellas together on the beach to accommodate our large group. Reuben was also our main guy throughout the whole time we were there and I cannot say enough good things about him!!!!! He was very attentive to our group, but not that "annoying kind of attentive". He noticed when drinks were empty and kept them refilled, he picked up dirty dishes in a timely manner and kept up with the general demands of a group this size. We hung out on the beach in our chairs for probably the majority of Reuben's shift (5-6 hours).
Our tab all together was somewhere between $450-$500, but we had individual tabs going. He learned who in the group was on what tab. I have no idea how he kept track of this because kids of each group randomly ordered soda, the adults continuously ordered alcoholic beverages and everyone ate meals and appetizers at different times throughout the visit! He NEVER once made a...
Read moreHave been to mangos many many times since I’ve moved here. The past two times I’ve been extremely disappointed. To the point that I will never return. Ordered the burger. I specifically asked for it to be “well done, fully cooked” Google will not let me attach the picture I have. But it was completely raw. The entire burger was 100% pink raw beef. I would have complained or sent it back. But that was not an option. As our waiter was no where to be found. Did not come by to ask how the meal was, did not come by to ask if we needed another drink, The last time I saw him, is when he brought me this raw burger. I literally had to yell across the restaurant to another server who was not ours to even get the check. Also had to walk to the counter to get my change. Hands down the worst service I’ve ever had In Puerto Vallarta after 5 years of being here. I will never return to mangos. And if you haven’t been. I would suggest finding another place to go. Better service at a street taco shack.. 🙄 not...
