Not to be missed in Cabo One of the best restaurants and views in all of Cabo. We always stay at Castillo Blarney Inn. Luna Italiana is located on the hill on the grounds of Castillo Blarney. The place is magnificent in every way. Food Views and location. We dined two nights on our stay in Cabo Feb 3 and 4th 2022. One night we had cocktails and appetizers one night Dinner. Both nights exceeded our expectations. Luna is a sister restaurant of the well known Itialian Job restaurant in town. The service and food are great and the staff is well seasoned for a newly opened restaurant. We had drinks our first night. The 4 of us sat at the nice bar and were served by two of Cabos best bartenders. Christian and Fernando. We enjoyed their company so much we came back the next night and ordered dinner at the bar and the service Christian and Fernando gave us was Five Star. This is a fantastic venue for romantic dining, fantastic city views or just having cocktails. Its a very large restaurant with open air seating. Great for large parties or anything else you might desire. Views and food to die for. Thanks Luna Italiana for a great experience were looking forward to seeing you very soon on our next trip to Cabo. It is great that your located on the grounds of our favorite Boutique 6 room hotel Castillo Blarney. What a great combination for a wonderful stay. Make sure to reserve a table this is going be a hard venue to get into when the...
Read moreWe stayed at Blarney Castle and were very excited about great reviews of this restaurant.
We came here for dinner during our first night. My husband doesn't eat spicy food. Before placing an order, we explained the situation to the waiter and asked him to make sure we don't get served anything spicy (including black pepper). My husband ordered Minestrone soup and gorgonzola gnocci. I ordered pasta with shrimp and spinach.
Unfortunately, the Minestrone soup appeared to be ridiculously spicy. My husband couldn't eat it. I like spicy food but even for me it was too much for Italian place. The gorogonzola gnocci were extremely soggy. They were covered in a ton of liquid and tasted like semolina pieces.
The most disappointing thing was that the waiter has never ever stopped by our table to check on us or the food: not after bringing the soup nor after bringing the pasta.
We left extremely disappointed but decided to give this place another chance. We came back for dinner and were served by the same waiter again. We ordered pasta with eggplant sauce and shrimp fettuccine. Both dishes were OK. Really average and nothing special. Not only the waiter has never checked on us and the food again but also he asked if we want the complimentary bruschetta or prefer to skip it. Why would you ask something like that?
I am really surprised why this place got so many great reviews. I wouldn't want to come...
Read moreUnfortunately the atmosphere and service carry this place after you scale the Blarney Castle Inn mountain. Awesome views and nice setting, but should have thought twice once realizing this is an Italian restaurant in an Irish hotel in Mexico.
Bread was great. Caesar salad was a series of undressed romaine leaves stacked together with dressing on top - not well executed at all.
The cacio e pepe was a total pepper bomb. I love black pepper, but this tasted like 5x pepper jerky. This is a simple, yet technical dish requiring finesse and technique. However, it seems they took the shortcut of using pre-ground instead of fresh ground pepper. Big mistake that makes all the difference.
The bolognese had too much baking spice of some sort (e.g. cinnamon, cardamom) and the veal parmesan came with yet another pasta side (not mentioned on the menu) and looked like something you’d get at the Olive Garden.
Overall, not worth a special night in Cabo. I hope this place can find some inspiration and put more pride...
