First Review Ever... for those of you who are Americans on vacation and looking for a place to workout. This gym is not like anything you're going to find in the States. BUT... if you're like me and enjoy the adventure of experiencing different cultures, it is a definite MUST to check out. If you're a gym rat, you're going to love it. If you're a make-up wearing, designer clothing, with matching water bottle type ... you will HATE it.
Price: 170 pesos ($7.50ish USD, aprox) for 1 day use. Hours: Appear to vary when it actually opens compared to what I found on Google. I got in around 7:45 on a Sunday morning. Service: One guy at front desk. Nice and to the point. I was working out within 2 min. Facilities: Very run down, but NOT dirty. The locker room was just a small room with two clean working bathrooms. Second floor was the gym, with an open air concept. (No windows, just open to the outside elements.) Third floors was the uneven haphazard roof, were I did my stretches in the sun looking out over the town. No air-conditioning! EXPECT to sweat as humidity is thick. -Equipment: Everything was very old but worked perfectly. I did see around 10 newer standard treadmills, all in great shape. You have to do math to find the correct weights, as nothing was labeled and organized. Again, part of the adventure. Layout was a bit difficult as machines kind of interfere with each other, so you have to be creative and move around others. Crowd- Two others were there when I arrived and within the hour around 10 people were there. I was VERY nervous about safety walking in, and how to protect my bag, phone and myself (No Lockers). Quickly I realized I didn't need to worry, everyone was friendly and focused on themselves. Mainly 20-40 year old aged guys and 2 women. Some of the guys were working out shirtless, not to show off, but to survive the humidity. SO I did the same (Something I've never done before.)
SO: If you need a workout after all the food and drinks, this is your place. Directly downtown, on a relatively safe bock. Ignore all the reviews of negativity on this place. If you come with an open mind you leave feeling great and ready to get back to the beach (or the bars in my case!!!)
4 Stars because it obviously isn't a top...
Read moreHad a great experience using the day pass twice while visiting Cabo (paid $11 USD each time). The weight selection is decent and there are plenty of treadmills (some seem dated and need the belts to be oiled but the ones facing the wall worked great), a stair stepper, a couple of stationery bikes and an elliptical. Loved the open feel of the gym and the open windows I could look out of in front of the treadmills when I was running. You can buy water at the front desk and there are also showers. I'm not sure if they normally are running, but the fans upstairs were not on so it did get stuffy / I couldn't figure out how to turn them on. Would recommend this spot if you need space...
Read moreDefinitely wouldn't recommend it. the staff is not accommodating what so ever, that wouldn't let me see the gym before I paid for my membership and when I realized that their stationary bike is old as heck and can't adjust to my size (the main reason I went to a gym in the first place to train for my upcoming ironman) I asked to cancel my membership and get a refund less than 5 minutes after signing up. They refused! And we're quite nasty about it. This just comes to show the owners don't know the first thing about fitness nor do they care about making their customers happy, they just care about making money. If you are looking for a good experience,...
