Cafe Joselo — Restaurant in Mexico City

When I first got here from LA about a month ago and got my first cappuccino here I thought I had found the perfect coffee place. The first two visits the coffee was perfect - silky, smooth and right temperature. Then in my third time the usual baristas weren’t there and the coffee wasn’t that good. I was able to drive just mine but my wife couldn’t drink at all. Ever since I have been going here only when in the area, not specifically going here for coffee since it’s a hit and miss and a bit far. You could be the perfect cup of coffee if the right barista is there or just an ok cup of coffee. I wished all the baristas were similarly trained - not just for this place but for all/most...

Te gusta el café?... pero me refiero al buen café! No al de ese lugar donde el tamaño chico es alto, el grande es mediano y el venti es el grande 🤔 y ojo, yo soy cliente frecuente de ese lugar pero soy consiente de que, para nada es un buen café, para mi gusto es un café normal tirándole a mediocre pero ese no es el tema de esta publicación, aquí en JoSelo Café si hay excelente café.

Es un lugar de 2 pisos muy muy pequeño ubicado en una de las mejores zonas de la CDMX, la pomposa, pretenciosa y ostentosa colonia Polanco, justo frente al parque Lincoln. Puedes comprarte un café y sentarte en las bancas del parque, en las mesas que tienen afuera o dar una vuelta caminando, si tienes suerte en una de las cabeceras del parque podrás escuchar un concierto ya qué hay un auditorio al aire libre y en las fuentes puedes rentar una lancha de control remoto por una módica cantidad.

Es un poco más caro que la cafetería de la sirena pero créeme vale cada centavo de lo que pagas. Un espresso (si, así, sin X) doble cortado cuesta 41 pesos, también tienen brownies, galletas, panqués, café molido y demás productos para incrementar su ticket, pero yo solo entro compro mi espresso y me voy. La textura, el cuerpo, el aroma y el sabor de su café es suficiente para disfrutar de una pausa en tu día.

Ya sabes, aceptan efectivo y tarjeta para que no haya falla a la hora de intercambiar tu dinero por este delicioso...

It’s a nice coffee shop, but considering the area, there are definitely better options nearby. The coffee was good, but not memorable. I also tried a cookie — not their recommended dessert, to be fair — but it was pretty hard and not enjoyable.

Seating is limited but quite comfortable if you’re lucky enough to grab a spot. One thing that truly stands out is the staff — incredibly kind and attentive. That alone makes the experience feel a little...
