Touring Mexico City and I excitedly stumbled upon this place. I love sandos and went to Japan recently.

I decided to try a fruit sando which is one of the most classic sandos you can get. Instead of delicious fluffy stretchy milk bread which all Japanese sandos are known to have, this sando was unfortunately made with some sort of savory hard sourdough bread which was absolutely foul in combination with the fruit and cream.

The fruit was good but unfortunately the cream also wasn’t fluffy enough either and there wasn’t enough of it. Plus the sourness from the bread soured the cream it touched which tasted terrible. Absolutely the worst fruit sando I’ve ever tried. They need to invest in milk bread bc their sour bread ruined the whole thing....

We visited because our usual Japanese place at "Fonda 115" is on construction work. First, the waiter behaved in a discriminatory way as I did not communicate to him in English. There is simply no excuse for that.

Mexican culture should not allow for discrimination in ANY way.

Second, the Japanese food was no good. There is no excuse if you serve a cold Ramen, and if you advertise a "Miso Ramen" the expectation is a properly done MISO AND RAMEN, not something soup-like which even instant miso surpases.

You can check my review history, it really takes a lot of effort for bad places to deserve a low rating from my side. But man,...

Fun little spot with a lot of tasty options. Service is fantastic. Super friendly and awesome.

Shrimp Bao - 4/5 Tonkotsu Bao - 5/5 Paitan Ramen - 4/5 Tamago Sando - 5/5 Curry Sando - 5/5 Cheesecake - 5/5

The Tonkotsu Bao was very tasty. Juicy sausage or chorizo. The shrimp bao was good. Ramen was all good. The sandos are definitely the star of the show here. Both sandwiches were phenomenal. Super tasty. Fresh, soft bread. The chicken curry was juicy and crunchy. The Tamago was incredible. Amazing flavors. The cheesecake was amazing. Not a traditional cheesecake but more of a tres leche meets fluffy Japanese cheesecake. It...

Good neighborhood Japanese restaurant with friendly (English-speaking) staff. I love that they have a baby portion for the ramen, so that I can leave room for dessert 😂 Tonkotsu ramen broth is a tad too salty for me, but overall delicious and satisfying. The baby portion is about 7 to 8 spoons of noodles, which is just the right amount I needed. Harajuku honey toast was the perfect afternoon treat. The toast was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The berry sauce was rich and sumptuous. Want to try the other sandwiches next time!
