After passing by this place all the time (usually earlier in the morning, before it's open), we finally found ourselves nearby in the afternoon on a Thursday. It was packed full; there was some kind of an event going on, and it seemed like a lot of people on business lunches.

After waiting for a little while longer than we'd normally expect, the service/server was immediately quite cold and direct. We managed to get an order in, a beer, olives, the tomato, asparagus, and avocado salad, huevos rotos with chorizo, and the rack of lamb.

All of the plates arrived at nearly the exact same time, which was fine I guess, but the lamb was a little cold by the time we got past the olives and salad. All of the food was actually very good.

The main issue was that they wouldn't serve us just a plain avocado for our 9 month old son (we know that they have avocado from the salad). We asked our initial server, who immediately dismissed it, asked the manager to double check, who forgot then informed us that the chef was very strict, after we asked him again, and finally another server overheard us, asked what we needed, and 5 minutes later, our first server showed up...

Overall, good food and good vibes. We ordered (translated) the cheese plate (pictured below), potato tart, iberico, cheese and truffle sandwich, the duck with risotto, and a salad and everything was fabulous. The food is Spanish tapas style so admittedly, it’s more expensive than if you were ordering entrees, as tends to be the case with tapas. In looking around, all the food we saw looked delicious and we may be back soon to try more items on the menu. As well, we were seated exactly at our reservation time - always appreciated. It’s super loud in the restaurant so I wouldn’t recommend it for a group larger than 4 - you won’t be able to hear yourselves. As well, it didn’t appear that any staff spoke English so if you don’t speak Spanish, you’ll have to struggle thru the...

Comida:

The food is excellent, they offer basics as tortilla de patatas which is perfectly soft and right potatoes texture. The huevos rotos with ibérico could have been espectacular. The lentils and chuletón… amazing 💥 Regarding the service, you need to keep an eye on the staff if you want them to clean your table or to order something else. The wine prices are quite reasonable especially compared to other restaurants where wine prices have become excessive. Visually, the restaurant is full of interesting details to take in. Has a bit of a noisy atmosphere leading to a quick turnover of tables but A great music selection.

Be careful - the waiters will offer you house specials … then your “special” bill will be more than 5 times the cost of any other plates on the menu. So make sure to ask for the cost …. We did not and were given a single ordinary sized fish to split with peppers…and then we were charged $2000 for it. We explained our surprise and dismay at being taken advantage of, yet management was non-responsive and dismissive. So not a great experience. Food was good and atmosphere fun, other than that unfortunate treatment.
