Las Musas de PapáSibarita — Restaurant in Mexico City

Reading the reviews, I feel like I went to another restaurant. It's possible they were having a particularly bad night, but when I respectfully explained (when asked) why I hadn't eaten my pasta, the host suggested I didn't know what fresh pasta tastes like. Except...I do. I've had excellent fresh pasta everywhere from Naples to New York City to Guadalajara. And it doesn't taste starchy and "off."

I don't generally write negative reviews, but this place charges a real premium (it was among the most expensive restaurants of our trip) and it saddens me to think of someone who hasn't experienced handmade pastas splurging on a meal here thinking this is what pasta is.

I had a pasta craving and would been very happy with a bowl of simple, reasonably well-prepared tagliatelle. I wasn't expecting the best pasta of my life. But these noodles were dramatically undercooked. Even when they were prepared again, the texture was unpleasant and the flavor was odd. I didn't eat them. I took them home, thinking my 6-year-old, who will slurp down just about any noodle, might enjoy them more than I did. But no, they went uneaten.

Beyond the disappointing pasta, I found the restaurant's response (essentially to call me ignorant) and incredibly slow and inattentive service to be a real shame, especially at the prices they're charging. I do think this place has potential, so I hope they'll take the feedback to heart instead of...

The food is tasty but extremely expensive. $379 for a piece of salmon with two cherry tomatoes and three slices of courgette is ridiculous. My friends paid $379 for a piece of bacalao that came with a few capers. A piece of fish in a bowl is not a “dish”. They charged us for a “bowl” of olives that was so small that it only had seven olives in it. A nice place, but we won’t be going back.

Edit after reply: The owner keeps going on about the protein. People want a hearty meal. It doesn’t matter what the side is, give us something with our main ingredient. Capers is not enough. You would not get away with this in Italy. I can buy a kilo of organic wild salmon for what they charge for this paltry dish. There is far better Italian food in Mexico City. Ones without passive aggressive owners (s/he can't take criticism, which isn't a great trait for a restauranteur). Avoid this place. The pizzas are way better at Félix on Álvaro...

Conozco este lugar desde hace unos años. La primera vez que fui el local estaba en otro lugar, muy cerca de ahí, pero era muy pequeño.

El concepto me encanta. Nada más gratificante para un viernes por la noche que ir a cenar, poderte tomar una copa de vino y disfrutar de buena música.

Cuando se mudaron al lugar donde ahora están, empecé a frecuentarlo a la hora de la comida. Tienen una opción de menú, eliges una entrada o sopa del día, el agua del día y un plato fuerte.

Las pastas, la base de la pizza y las salsas son elaboradas artesanalmente. Lo cual se aprecia en el sabor y mezcla de todos los ingredientes.

Sin duda las pastas y pizzas son la especialidad del lugar. He probado varias así que puedo recomendarles prácticamente todas. Mi favorita es el pesto. Las porciones son suficientes, que disfrutas el sabor sin sentirte pesado al levantarte de la mesa.

Yo soy de las personas que tiene que concluir una buena comida con un postre, y este podría decir que es otro de los puntos fuertes del lugar.

El punto más positivo es que es un excelente restautant italiano, y lo demuestra en los platillos, no con decoración ni con la típica playlist de canciones Pop-eras italianas. Lo cual agradezco enormemente, se toman la música en serio y por eso le dan oportunidad de a bandas de jazz (principalmente) de presentarse los fines de semana en este acogedor recinto.

Los vinos no podrían dejar en mal a este restaurante. El vino tinto de la casa es delicioso. El viernes pasado tuve la oportunidad de probar uno blanco (no soy muy afecta a éste) e igualmente me pareció delicioso.

Una súper opción de comida italiana de excelente calidad, en una de las zonas más visitadas de la gran Ciudad de México y con buen ambiente, ¿se podría pedir más?

El único punto en contra, no cuenta con estacionamiento. Pero no es difícil encontrar donde dejar el auto. Solo considera qué hay que llevar monedas para el...
