Milk Pizzeria — Restaurant in Mexico City

The food and service were very good. However, what happened when it was time to pay was extremely concerning and unacceptable.

When the bill arrived, I attempted to pay with my credit card. The payment was declined twice with the message “insufficient funds.” The waiter offered no explanation and simply walked away, visibly frustrated.

I immediately checked my bank account and confirmed that I had enough credit available. That’s when I noticed the issue: instead of charging me $38 USD, the terminal attempted to charge me $380,000 USD. Naturally, the bank declined the transaction.

I called over the waiter who had been attending us (not the same one who brought the payment terminal) and explained the situation. He was unable to provide any explanation for how or why this happened.

I left the restaurant with a very, very uneasy feeling. This incident occurred on Saturday, June 7. It’s deeply troubling to think of what could have happened if I hadn’t checked the details carefully. Please be extremely cautious if you decide...

WHAT A TERRIBLE ENDING TO WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD EVENING.

four of us went ordered two pizzas, one pasta and a salad. the food is good, the cocktails were especially good however we had a rather unpleasant ending to our evening when it came to paying the bill.

The bill was split into three, the waiter took the first two payments then went to take the third and added a 80% tip on. The person paid it without thinking as he was distracted talking, luckily one of our group heard the amount and questioned it. What then happened was a huge embarrassment from the waiting staff where we had to get out all the receipts (which they did begrudgingly) and we had to prove they'd overcharged us. Now of course we don't know if it was done on purpose, but I would put my money on that it wasn't their first time doing it. Eventually we spoke to the manager, received a refund via cash and an apology but what could have been a good evening had been ruined.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. We had such great expectations since the reviews were claiming this was the best pizza place ever in Mexico City... how wrong were we. To be honest, we don't understand why this is so well rated. Food meh, service terrible, decoration is ok,just very uncomfortable sofas... I know this is a hyped place due to the hordes of foreigners that are drowning Mexico City, but there's too much room to grow here. Better ingredients, food was plain, nothing extraordinary, and for the price is totally unacceptable. Service could improve so much, waiters seem to be exhausted, and considering the amount of people they get, I would also be. Our waiter was rude, dropping drinks and dishes very harsh on the table, took ages to get our food, and drinks arrived after our food. Wine was opened without our approval, served only one cup, took the cork with him, and so on. Details are everything. Do yourself a favor and explore...
