One of my best experiences in CDMX. Chef Andres Trillo has quite a culinary pedigree. He has cooked all over the world honing his skills and it shows in his menu. I am a classically trained chef and I especially appreciated his touches from classic French training that dots his menus. Chef spent time at our table and explained his thoughts on his dishes. I absolutely adored every plate. My favorite this nite was the Artichoke Creme Brûlée and the short rib, ceviche, Brussels sprouts were so well executed. He doesn’t over work the food but his compositions are just perfectly constructed. This man is extremely talented and so is his well trained staff. This spot should be near the top of anyone’s list of best places. Make a reservation and go before it becomes very difficult to get a table. A cool bonus in the neighborhood aesthetic…... Across the street is a theatre with a fabulous glass mosaic above the entrance. It is especially beautiful at night. There is a large wall in the restaurant that is unadorned, a large painting of the glass mosaic or a culinary version of it would look so cool on that wall. Thank you Chef...
Read moreAn unexpected and exceptional experience.
My wife stopped mid-walk and pointed across the street. A jewel box glowingly lit with an emerald green bar at its back, we crossed to enter.
To our greeter I modestly offered “solamente queremos bebidas,” a bit of good medicine to get us back on our feet. My wife ordered an espresso martini, I took the server’s recommendation (a gin drink with a red wine float).
We added a watermelon arugula salad and hamachi sashimi. The menu… it called to us.
Everything was incredible.
The service was impeccable. Amicable and charming, effortlessly intuitive.
The food and drinks were inspired, delightful, and satisfying.
I’m so jealous of the patrons Trillo will serve. I can’t wait...
Read moreMy husband and I shared everything at Trillo! We started with the Brussels sprouts that were divine followed by a roasted cauliflower salad which was excellent . We then had the braised short ribs that were perfect- tender with a rich stock. The dessert? A chocolate torte with hazelnut ice cream which was fabulous! I also had a mocktail which was refreshing and delicious and a lovely ‘Milky Way’ tea to end our meal- The chef was so attentive and this was one of the most creative meals we have ever experienced- the staff were all so kind- this restaurant is fairly new and my advice to make a reservation before chef trillo becomes so popular it will be hard to get a table! We will definitely be...
