Malini and Srikant catered our wedding lunch at Proyecto Public Prim. We had a wonderful experience working with them and eating their delicious food.
It's been a year+ since our wedding. To this day, our family and friends still share the surprise and delight they experienced enjoying a traditional vegetarian South Indian banana leaf lunch in the heart of Mexico City. Banana Leaf lunches Malini and Srikant made this possible.
Their kindness, attention to detail and commitment to creating everything good that comes with the feeling of homecooked food is noteworthy. Thank you for collaborating with us on the menu, obtaining the quintessential banana leaf lunch materials - keeping it all eco-friendly, and working with our vendors so seamlessly to make lunch a memorable part of our wedding. We recall coming into lunch after taking photos and feeling the joy across the room. The leisureliness of a homecooked meal was exactly what we wanted to share with our guests. Thank you for making this a reality. As a Telugu couple, we were so proud to share our love for our food in our favorite city. Thank you.
South Indian food aside, they also provided delicious samosas and pani puri shots (we got to try multiple water flavors like mango and date during our tasting process!) as floating appetizers before lunch. These were a hit!

Read moreExcellent Indian food with authentic flavors for both north and south Indian dishes. We went for lunch and tried the sambhurdha( similar to mor or a jeera ginger lassi), vegetarian thali and the non vegetarian thali.
Veg thali came with chappati, vegetable/ sabji of the day , rice, dahi vada, appetizer of the day( dhokla), choice of either dal/ sambhar/ chole with a dessert.
Non veg thali came with chappati, meat curry of the day ( was a chicken curry), rice, dahi vada, appetizer of the day( she gave us a samosa for variety ), choice of either dal/ sambhar/ chole with a dessert.
These were super filling and we could barely finish them though we had skipped breakfast.
Excellent service and very friendly owners. Flavors are perfect for each dish- with the right balance of spice. Better than a lot of restaurants in usa/ seattle!
Highly recommend coming here to take a break from local cuisine when traveling. You wont be disappointed. Reasonable prices, seating available but fills up very quickly.
We will be back to try the dosas and chutneys. The owner is from Delhi but originally tamilian- which is why they hit both South and North Indian flavor...
Read moreWe had our son’s wedding in Mexico City. At the last minute we had to arrange for a one small ceremony for 150 guests in Mexico City. The wedding was in Four Seasons but another religious ceremony had to be done. My son found Suvai’s number online and together we contacted Malini. She and her husband, Srikant open the doors to their restaurant. They decorated the entire restaurant Indian style, brought all Puja stuff, fresh flower decorations, garlands for the ceremony in short we did not have to worry about a thing. They provided everything to us. Our family as well as all our guests were completed blown away. The food, decor and service was just perfect. Not only that but they also provided and delivered fresh Indian breakfast, tea and coffee to Hotel each morning for all our guests. Our hotel was on the same street as their restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about this very young hardworking couple who are so dedicated to serving their clients and even their staff is just as helpful. I wish them much success. If anyone is planning a wedding in Mexico City I highly recommend that you contact Suvai Restaurant you will not be...
