Cabanna Restaurant — Restaurant in Nuevo León

During our long weekend trip to Monterrey, we decided to stay in the neighborhood of San Pedro Garza García. It’s a beautiful and safe area with tons of restaurants and a great mall. I’ve even heard a Thompson hotel is currently under development in this area. This is our favorite restaurant we found in San Pedro. They’re advertised as a seafood restaurant which is true but they also have dishes like pizza. This place makes an amazing margarita and my boyfriend loved both their beer and mezcal. They automatically start you off with large chips and two salsas, one red and one green, that are tasty rather than spicy. We ordered both El Sultan and Taquitos de Aguachile which were both amazing aguachiles dishes but it’s true that the Taquitos de Aguachile were very spicy due to the jalapeño serranos 🤤 Then I ended up asking for the Volcán de Asada, a quite tall but no less delicious taco, while my boyfriend ordered the Quesitos Cabanna taco. After trying his taco, I ended up ordering a Quesitos Cabanna taco as well because it was the best taco I had ever tasted. Due to lack of space indoors we were seated outdoors. Outdoors is not really outdoors but is called outdoors so they can allow people to smoke there This area is double the size of indoors. In all this area only one table was smoking - the table next to use was made up of chain smokers! The food was standard. Not bad, not great. There was a game on tv which was fine except that the sound from the tv was competing with the music from the speakers which was not pleasant. When the game finished the music was pumped up to night club levels which made it impossible to talk at tables. It seems this chain of restaurants is for young people. The fact that the entire clientele was 40 and above was lost on the manager or whoever was in charge and refusing to lower the volume just a little. Probably...
