Bip Bip — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

Terrible, terrible service. I don't usually go to these kind of establishments for drinks, however I thought I would give this one a try.

So I want to start off by saying that we were encouraged to go into the restaurant, as we were walking and were told you can get 2 for 1 on drinks, for around 120 pesos, so we ended up getting too Margaritas, and 2 Beers.

The drinks were absolutely terrible. I didn't end up finishing the first Margarita. I drank about 1/4 before I couldn't drink anymore, clearly made with really bad syrup and by someone who had no training. It just didn't taste good at all. When I ask to switch out the Margarita for a third beer instead, they said that wasn't possible (this was prior to it actually being made), so my friend ended up having the 2 beers and finishing the second Margarita, which was made by someone else and tasted slightly better. When it was time to pay. We were told a completely different price (much higher of course) for the drinks that we didn't enjoy.

Before I put my card in the card machine, I asked to see the actual price which is usually displayed on the screen. However, it wasn't there. The guy told me the price that he input. So I asked can I see it? He told me again the price that he input, and again I asked can I see it? We went back and forth about nine times until I said I was gonna leave. He then said that he would call a police on me very childish, very immature, very unprofessional service.

Judging by the other reviews, with this establishment, adding their own service charges and tips. It's a good thing that I asked to see the price. Because adding money on top of already being overcharged and having bad drinks and bad service is just outrageous.

When I left, I ended up walking back to find the name of the establishment because I really wanted to leave this review to warn others of the disgusting service I received.

I could not find the name or any signage for the restaurant. I'm assuming they took it down just because the usual bad reviews that they get. I had to go on google maps in order to find the location and write this review. I did, however, take some pictures and videos of the location and as I was doing this, the same person who tried to overcharge me was following me around and recording me with his phone. I'm recording the establishment and he thinks it's okay to record me without my consent.

I have never received any service like this before and they should really be closed down. Acting nice to get people to come in and then change their tune as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

Given that they have removed their signage, it will be hard for people to look up the restaurant to see the reviews beforehand, but even if it helps one person to avoid wasting their money...

By far one of the worst experiences I've had!!!! I don't even like to leave reviews and I've decided to take some time so that other people specially from the states (mainly ones that eat there) don't experience the same.just because we don't have much knowledge of the area. The menu looks tempting and had a wide variety and that's what I gravitated to. It was a variety of bad tasting food. The told my son his plate was a seabass when it was clearly tilapia. Uncooked at that. For my other son and I we order a plate for 2 that consists of skirt steak,porkshops,chicken , chorizo and beans. Every single item was from what I can tell frozen and cooked a bit. Many areas were cols and chewy. Very tasteless amd just gross. It literally made me throw up. They told me that they will cook me another steak and fish and t that point it would have been my fault if I agreed. There's no way this place still in bussines and people actually spend their hard earn money. The other customers looked very disappointed but they expressed to me that they just wokt eat there again and fear something happened if they spoke up. I am Hispanic and didn't have a problem doing so and even then they didn't give me a break on the price. I will dispute charges with my bank STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY,...

2 of us went to Bip Bip Restaurant for supper. Ordered a drink each (coffee & beer) which arrived promptly with a dish of Nachos * Pico. 1 person ordered Lasagna, the other ordered the Seafood Soup (usually very good). The place was not too busy but after almost 60 minutes, NO FOOD HAD ARRIVED. 4 other tables that had been seated after us had already been served their main courses including a table of 4 people where 3 of them were served Steak with Baked Potato and Salad. When we tried to complain to the senior staff member, he sent over a young server instead who kept saying "our food would be ready shortly". We left paying only for our drinks. We believe that either the server "lost" our order or the kitchen screwed up badly. No apology was offered by Bip Bip staff. Can't see us going back here...
