It is the only BAD experience we had during our 5 day stay in Tulum. The food was the worst, and mind you Tulum has amazing food anywhere you go.. we asked for breakfast tofu sandwich which had dried stale rice in it which would stick to your tooth and can't be chewed. The breakfast tofu was just raw tofu mixed with loads of raw turmeric! It was the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten! Even the barbecue burger that we ordered was tasteless and insanely sweet. We did let the waiter know that the food is inedible specially with the almost uncooked, dried out rice. He just smiled, presented the check and asked how much tip I would like to give!! Please don't be fooled by the amazing reviews, this place might have been good at one point, but it's not so anymore. The service is so bad that you have to get up and keep going to the waiter if you need anything at all, the staff is least bothered to even take your order. They mentioned on their website- "Liefs means love in Dutch, which is at the heart of all we do" but it is all pretty on paper. This definitely does not show through the food they offer, the service they provide and the environment they create. They are just fooling people through beautiful words and concept and then serving stale food.
It was my last meal in Tulum and I regret it to the core! Enough to spoil the mood at the end of...
Read moreVery refreshing on so many levels! This place has what you need to cool off & rehydrate. Their story struck us as we are from VERMONT where farm to table has been embraced for decades. Several People rode by saying hello to Fem as she is a ray of sunshine! Even if you’re not vegan, you’ll find everything on the menu to be as delightful as Fem is!
Welcome to Liefs -Tulum's first Farm to Van concept. We are Thomas & Fem from Amsterdam, where Liefs means Love. Our mission is to popularize plant-based products to normalize conscious consumption. -At a nearby farm we cultivate and curate our conscious comfort cuisine, with local Mayan families. -While psychedelically awakening through many sleepless nights, envisioning how to be the change we'd like to see, we quit our corporate rat-race in Texas to follow our vision to create a kinder world, one meal at a time. -We believe flavor and happiness are key to normalizing conscious consumption. That's why we pack our delicious dishes full of guilt-free flavors that love you back. We manifest maximum taste with minimum waste by continually optimizing our supply-chain towards 100% sustainability. -Thank you for choosing to eat at Liefs and helping us create a kinder world, one meal at a time. Lots of Liefs,...
Read moreThis was very disappointing. Very expensive and quite bland. Prices are in line for Tulum though so I wouldn’t even have bothered to write a full review were it not for -1. The 15% tip that was added automatically which is illegal in Mexico and -2. the answers the owners gave to past reviewers who did not like their offer either.
I advise you to read these answers if you are a bit bored. It’s quite revealing - a weird mix of ´´if you don’t like our food or think it’s a rip off, it’s because you are against : saving animals/the environment/recycling/local business (seriously… owners are Dutch and staff Canadian / the earth and we passive aggressive understand you of course and know what you did before and where you live etc’´. A weird mix of passive aggressive virtue signalling that quite contradicts the stated moto of ´kindness’and’live well’ and other bland new age bs this kind of business is usually plastering itself menu with. Can’t wait to read the weird answer this...
