Mingo's Place — Restaurant in San Miguel de Cozumel

We were recommended this place from a girl we met at the dive shop. There is no sign on the front so you have to know what you're looking for. His menu is mostly burgers and fries but, after talking to Mingo, the owner, he'll make steaks, lobsters, pasta, almost whatever you want. We got a couple of burgers (Hawaiian and a mushroom and bacon burger) with fries, Cokes, and a piece of key lime pie for around $13 US. It was delicious! The ambience is also amazing! It's set in the front patio of Mingo's house and is full of beautiful plants and foliage. There's also great music playing in the background. Mingo came to our table and we talked with him for a bit. Greatest meal of my 57 years!

Today was epic! I spent the day on the beach in Cozumel and then my Cousin Michael took us to “his place”. Mingos in Cozumel was amazing. The fish might have the freshest red snapper and Lobster cooked two ways; grilled and “Mingos way” which was a light creamy Mediterranean style! The fish was out of this world…but the fillet of beef was second to none!! Huge cut wrapped in bacon. Oh my! We had two beautiful shots of amazing tequila and a bottle of Red Wine. Meal was capped off with a cheese cake and Key lime pie.

Mingo is the owner. He works with his wife, daughter and nephew! I recommend this above anything else you are thinking of right now!! ...

My partner and I went to Mingo’s Place for dinner after reading some reviews and we were not disappointed.

We were greeted by Mingo on arrival and had a table in the outdoor courtyard. It is a lovely intimate venue.

We tried a traditional burger, an espanola burger (with Spanish chorizo) and some fries. The burgers were exceptional. Grilled to perfection and served on a soft roll with lettuce and tomato. To drink we had a limonada, a few beers and after our meal a tequila and a baileys. Mingo chatted with us while we were there and made us feel very welcome.
