We had a very disappointing experience at Humo last night. We have been to Valladolid several times and like trying new place so while taking my parents who were visiting from out of the country out for their 41st wedding anniversary dinner we decided again try a new spot. We very much regret choosing Humo. It's clear that it's new and they have A LOT of things to figure out. The food: The ribs did not have much meat on the bone and were served with a chunky Mexican salsa. They didn't come with any sides, those you had to ask for seperately. My dad ordered the mashed potato's side, which they did not have, so.he then chose the French fries, which arrived when we were all almost finished eating. The sirloin burger was on the small.side and served with the "salad bar" which is not a salad bar, just toppings for burgers. Lettuce, tomato's, Cucumber and some pickles. My husband squirterld the hot cheese onto his burger from a metal container with that label and a clear liquid came out. The burger itself was not impressive and pretty plain. No other sides came with it. The tuna hotdog was actually the best dish we got. It was a rather tasty hottdog served on a black bun. Not sure why it was black, it didn't say on the menu nor did the server explain. This was also served with the "salad bar". Shrimp snack was my mom's order which she actually only at 3 of. It cost nearly the price of the ribs and we left the whole dish on the table because it was so gross. It was served cold, like a shrimp cocktail, spicy, small, and in some oily sauce with many seeds on it. There was no description of the cold, sad dish on the menu and we had asked if it came breaded to which the server replied no. She didn't explain that it came cold at that time my mom ate nothing for her anniversary dinner. The dish arrived about 20 minutes after the other dishes..
When I shared it was my parents anniversary, the waitress said a lame congrats but did not offer anything special for their day. Not a thing.
The space was ok. There are 2 huge distracting tvs. There was weak ac. The salad bar is a huge wooden thing right in the center of the restaurant, we had to ask other patrons to move so we could walk around it.
The service was OK. None of the food or drinks came together yet 1 by one about 5 to 10 mins apart.
I would not go back. It was terrible and very sad...
Read moreService started off fine until we asked for another round of drinks which the waitress mistakenly opened the wrong beverages, when we asked for the correct drinks she claimed they were out, we took provided drinks but checked on the way out and they had plenty of the ordered drink in the fridge. Not cool to be lied to due to a mistake. We also ordered guacamole which never came and we were charged for before we checked the bill.
Food was fair, two steaks ordered medium rare, the first came out well done, waited 15 minutes for the second which came out closer to rare than medium rare. Chewy and garlic drowned the flavor of meat. Mushroom burger & salmon were adequate also came out in a 15 minute interval. (We were the only table in the restaurant)
We had many better meals in Valladolid. This is one...
Read moreFood was good but service was horrible. We ordered the suadero tacos, grilled octopus, Humo special burger, and a couple drinks. Waiter said the burger will take 20-30 min and we said that’s fine we’ll wait. 30 min later, the tacos came out with the chips and guacamole. I got thirsty from the food and the waiter still didn’t bring us water so I had to ask for some. An hour later, the waiter came back and asked if we were waiting for something else and we told him the burger and grilled octopus. Few min later he came back and asked for something else but we just told him we’ll take the check to go at this point. For some reason they also took 5-10 min just to bring us a check. Understandable if there was 5-6 tables but there was literally only 3 tables with people sitting, us being the third....
