Cremeri Elmaataoui — Restaurant in Chefchaouen

After arriving in Chefchaouen, I was really excited to try one of their famous avocado and fruit milkshakes. This was the first place we went. There were some in the display counter, but he took one from behind the counter and said this one was “more fresh”. To be fair, it did look somewhat more fresh. From 2 hours after eating it, and for the next 10 hours, I had awful abdominal pain and projectile vomiting and couldn’t eat for the rest of the day. That night the diarrhea began and continued in to the next day. I would not recommend. AVOID! I did not let this ruin my Chefchaouen experience, but this particular cafe did not make for fun memories nor a good start or first impression of...

Un endroit très joli, au premier étage d’une toute petite entrée entourée de fruits (bananes &co). C’est un endroit parfait pour goûter le ‘Zaza’, typique et unique à Chefchaouen, une boisson onctueuse avec de l’avocat et du lait, comme du milkshake mais en plus doux. En plus de cela, nous avons pris des jus frais, des plateaux petit-déjeuner (fromages, charcuterie, œuf au plat, pain), une omelette à la viande séchée excellente, et des briwa (sorte de pastillas mais rectangulaires) au poulet, Nous avons tout aimé ! Le pain est frais et chaud, quel plaisir ! L’endroit est d’un charme fou, cela a fini de nous rendre parfaitement heureux. Prix très correct, 30 dirham par personne pour le petit-déjeuner complet...
