A good place at quite an approachable location, however, parking will be an issue...place has a quaint setting with limited seating space ...live music with only the female singer as jhelebal...
Drinks are good...and they offer the usual complimentary peanuts along with it... Starters are good and portion size is also decent....
For people looking for a taste of India in Nepal, this is a good place as value for money offered is higher for both veg and non-veg options...breads are also of better quality than served at other comparable places...one thing to keep in mind when ordering is to ask about the portion size as this place offers a lot better portion size than available at majority of other places in Kathmandu...
Highlight are the stewardesses at the place who are courteous and listen clearly to your request and orders...
But of course, if you wish to get a request sung by the live singers, do remember not to give them a hard choice as they might not be able to find the lyrics and your request would end up not being played at least when you are...
Read moreI ordered from Mughal Empire Restaurant (Lazimpat) through a food app, and it turned out to be one of the worst decisions I’ve made. The dal makhni they sent me was a complete disaster — it was sickeningly sweet, like a dessert. Who in their right mind makes dal makhni taste like sugar syrup? Clearly, they have no clue about authentic Mughlai or Indian food.
When you order delivery, the only thing that matters is the food itself — and if they can’t even get a simple, classic dish right, I can’t imagine how bad the rest of their menu must be. It’s not just disappointing, it’s insulting to anyone who knows what real dal makhni tastes like.
This place is nothing but false advertising, cashing in on a name while serving terrible food. Do yourself a favor: don’t waste your money or your appetite here. There are far better restaurants in Kathmandu that actually respect food, flavors, and...
Read moreFood was extremely disappointing. Butter chicken masala was tasteless, Adraki chicken was nothing like Adraki chicken, it had more of MSG flavor with Chinese taste than Indian. Mutton kebab was cotton dry and very salty. Stop ripping off people in the name of Indian cuisine. Party palaces makes better Indian food than Mughal empire. Live music was horrible. Music system needs upgrade, the sound was therefore very annoying. Plus the Singer took multiple tea & phone call breaks in an hour. The only good thing was the service, our wait staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and quick. They deserve better. NEVER coming back to this place and NO, I would never suggest this place to anyone, if they don't wish to ruin...
