We have been regular visitors of Cheli Bhanchha Ghar, Mitrapark, and in the past, we were satisfied with the food and service. Unfortunately, our recent visit was a very disappointing experience. Due to rain and traffic, we chose to dine here and ordered one vegetarian khana set and one chicken khana set. The sets were incomplete, with some regular items missing. When asked, the staff replied casually that due to rush, certain items had run out. Instead of curd, they served what tasted like curd pot cleaning water as mahi, which was completely unacceptable. Even worse, a piece of chicken was found in the vegetarian curry. For any restaurant, such carelessness is inexcusable, especially when serving vegetarian customers. When we informed the staff, they showed no accountability or genuine concern.

This negligence ruined our evening. If the restaurant cannot serve proper khana sets, it would be better to inform customers beforehand rather than compromise on quality and standards. A very unpleasant and...

Thakali Thalis are a staple meal in Nepal, and the variety of flavors, textures, and colors all served on a single metal platter made for a great way to sample lots of different local items. At the center of my thali was dhido (which I ordered instead of rice), a gooey mass of a buckwheat dough, in which the server used a spoon to make a hole, which he then filled with ghee. The other feature item of the thali was Sukuti, made of dried, fried boneless mutton in a spicy gravy, and the sukuti strips were super chewy, meaty, tough, and flavorful. And then there were a bunch of side dishes including sweet curd, a papad cracker, a spiced potato and green bean mixture, bitter mustard greens, radish pickle, roasted soy beans, a spicy red chutney, raw cucumber/radish, and a dark, salty dal made of mixed beans and lentils. The servers even brought around unlimited refills of the sides. My favorite components of the thali were the greens, the spiced potato, and the sukuti, but everything was balanced...

Avoid This Place at All Costs – A Complete Disaster

Dining here was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I visited around 9:30 PM and was shocked by the state of the place – it was absolutely filthy. The staff was careless, serving beer that spilled out of the glass, and the food was literally thrown onto the plate – barely edible and clearly substandard.

To make things worse, the person at the billing counter was visibly intoxicated, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. The crowd was loud and unruly, and the overall vibe felt unsafe and chaotic.

This place is a trap – I genuinely believe the good reviews are fake or paid for. Please don’t make the same mistake we did. There are far better and safer places to...

Great Veg Dal Bhat with a nice and spicy takari and many little items on your plate. Service is friendly and fast, and is happy to offer you more of anything you need. The ambiente in the first and second floor is great, as the location is a little bit away from the traffic and the noise. Really great place for lunch or dinner - with fair prices. Be aware: dishes may be really spicy (peanut sandheko). Better ask someone before - to use less chili if you don’t like it!

Prices are a little steep relative to other local eateries, but I had the best Thali ever right here. Large variety of side dishes providing so many interesting textures and flavours. All sides except meat were refillable. Staff provided us with ghee which brought the flavours to a whole new level. Service staff were amazing here, so attentive and accommodated all our needs during our meal. The restaurant is located on the second and third floor of a corner shop lot.
