湖南常德牛肉粉 — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I don’t usually leave any negative comments. But customer service of the lady staff of this restaurant was so horrible and took time to leave feedback.

We went into this the restaurant last week. It was late evening around 23.00pm. There were only 2-3 people and restaurants was almost empty. We did ask if they are open and the young man said they were.

We took the seat while my friend went to toilet. When my friend returned she said that she was absolutely disgusted by the state of toilet. She couldn’t even use it and told us that the toilet was filthy and sanitary pad was lying on the toilet floor.

She wanted to report to the staff. But the lady staff and the young man were in middle of conversation. Apparently the lady staff wasn’t happy with the customer in the restaurant as that customer returned the food as it was cold. My friend already knew that the lady staff’s attitude and didn’t approach to them.

Despite my friend not using the toilet, we waited for more than 10 minutes. But no body came to attend us. We knew that the service was going to take long so walked to the door to get out. The young man saw us and went inside to tell to that lady.

When the lady came we told her that we will come back as it was getting too late. And OMG, her attitude was simply out of roof. She asked us to pay €2.00 euros for having to use the toilet. My friend explained that she didn’t use the toilet as it was dirty. The lady said that my friend should have told them. My friend wanted to but she already knew that lady was annoyed for serving her unhappy customer. She was threatening us saying she will call the security. We mention to her we did waited for more than 10-15 minutes and it wasn’t like the restaurant was busy. The young boy tried to calm the situation and asked us to leave. And while we were leaving the lady staff was saying something in Chinese. And we can definitely figure that it was not thing. I am sorry to say but with the attitude as such the restaurant will definitely lose customers. Average food is tolerable but bad attitude leaves a bad reputation.

So overall very very bad experience. Horrible attitude of that Chinese lady. And if my friend have been that much desperate to use the toilet, we could have make our way to central station and pay only €0.70 euros. This was the only bad experience that we had...

We were truly disappointed with our experience at this Chinese restaurant in North Holland. As avid food enthusiasts, my girlfriend and I were excited to discover a new place, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations.

Firstly, the Chicken Broth was a major letdown. It lacked any discernible taste and seemed as if it had been prepared from a pre-packaged mix without any additional flavoring. The absence of depth and complexity made it a bland and unremarkable dish. The service was another area where this restaurant faltered.

Despite the restaurant being relatively empty, we waited for a staggering hour before our order arrived. The slow service was quite perplexing, and it left us feeling frustrated and unattended. To make matters worse, the attitude of the staff was less than desirable. When we inquired about the food, their response was dismissive and bordering on rudeness. It became evident that they were not open to feedback or willing to address our concerns. Their defensive reaction, claiming that this was their tried-and-true recipe, only added to the disappointment.

Furthermore, it is important to note that the restaurant's approach to customer feedback is concerning. We discovered that they have a policy of deleting any posts or reviews with negative feedback. This practice not only undermines the credibility of their online presence but also shows a lack of accountability and a disregard for constructive criticism.

Overall, our visit to this Chinese restaurant was a letdown. The lackluster Chicken Broth, combined with slow service and unwelcoming staff, left us with a negative impression. We had an early dinner as a group of 10, we all went for the Hunan style rice noodle soup. I had the chicken one but I tasted the broth of both the beef and the spicy beef options too, all broths were well-seasoned and delicious. Nonspicy beef soup is a good option for those who want to have the proper Hunan version but can't handle the heat since the food was authenthic as the Chinese people in our group also agreed. The stewed meat was also very tasty and tender, and the noodles were delicious. For starters, we got the "three kinds" which is technically not on the menu, but it's a combination of 3 offal meat on their menu. The intestines and tripe were both well marinated and seasoned, but the seasoning on tripe was a bit unusual for me it might be a hit or miss for the others. The cartilage was my favorite though, if only the marinade wasn't too spicy for me I'd order it again for sure.

We were earlier than the usual dinner time, so the restaurant was rather empty and we easily found a quiet table for our large group with a nice view of the square.
